Saddlebrook Resort

Golf course is tough, but everything was in great conditions what made it very enjoyable.

I don't think this course is worth playing until the renovations have been completed. From taking a shuttle to get to the resort to the pro shop not having my reservation to the rough being unplayable to the large crabgrass patches on the greens, it was a disappointment. Not the resort course I remember

Played here with some friends who were in visiting. The course is in slightly rough shape and tee boxes are bad. Parking was horrible as it said valet was included, but then we were told we would need to go park in overflow parking and take a shuttle which took all of the time we allotted for the range to warm up. Asked staff where to go and it seemed as though we inconvenienced them. Cart guys were fantastic though and helped give us directions of where things were.

You gotta know where to go, and it’s not self explanatory… but once you get to the course it did not disappoint. The Valet lot was full so we had to retreat to an auxiliary lot and ride the shuttle back to the resort center where we carried our clubs a few hundred yards before reaching the cart staging area. Everyone was very kind and helpful throughout our visit. The course is in very nice shape and we played in just over 3 hours. Didn’t see much of anyone out on the course mid morning on a weekday. Would definitely go back and feel much more confident in navigating now that we’ve been there once. Lost lots of time in the parking scramble debacle so didn’t warm up or putt at all. It was a steal at the Hot Deal rate!

The course was great. Even though it had rained a lot overnight, greens had no puddles, they were just wet since it was still early morning. It was HOT. Only disappointment was with the amenities- there were practically none. No cart girl selling drinks or water, no restaurant (calls to pool bar were unanswered, later we found out they were "closed for weeks"). Note to bring your own water/drinks or grab a gatorade at the shop if you play on a Friday AM as nothing will be offered on course.

Greens were recently punched and a little slower than normal, but course was otherwise great.

Nothing to do with the course but this is difficult weather to play golf in. The heat is bad but its the humidity that gets you wet, effects grip and vision.

The course is very challenging as sandtraps are located exactly where if you make good contact but are 25 feet to left or right, you will find yourself in the sand. The sand is very hard, not easy to control the shot.

Course layout is one of the best I've played in the Tampa Bay area. I would like to play here when it hasn't rained so much as the rough ate up balls. Grass was so thick balls dissappeared. Greens I thought were a little slow and some have bare spots and weeds. Tee boxes and fairways were fine.

It is a beautiful course and I enjoyed playing it. Now that I know how the greens roll, next time I will have a better day with the putter.

The Palmer course was in very good condition. A few tee boxes were knotty, but the overall course was well maintained and the undulating greens were awesome. The golf staff was very helpful - thank you Aiden for going the extra mile and escorting our car to the first tee box. Be prepared to carry your clubs from the valet area to the golf shop. The golf valet cart provided no service after 1pm. You can also leave your clubs at valet and grab them when you get your cart. The only negative about this course was the rest rooms. They were filthy. As a female golfer, this on course amenity is extremely important. Otherwise, the course currently is a 5 star.

The Staff is very friendly and helpful. Course is in very good condition , greens are rolling welll not lightning fast but they rolll true. Great layout.

While every other course is dealing with crap conditions, the Palmer course was impeccable. Tee boxes and fairways were great. Greens were super slick and rolled true. And it’s just a great course. For $60 this was a great deal.

Never having played here before, and I must admit I am not a good player, but I was very impressed with this course.

The conditions were fine considering it’s summer in Florida. Greens were fast, tee boxes could happen have been better, but hey…

Pace of play was terrible as group in front of us was very slow, hacking the ball all over the place, but that’s not on the course.

I really look forward to playing again in slightly cooler weather!
