Overall course is excellent, several greens suffering from too much rain.
Excellent time, despite CPO, following another rainy week. As expected, little roll because of abundant rain. Pace of 1st nine was excellent, 2nd was slower due to tournament on Indian Mound & Pine Lakes closed for for the day for normal maintenance. Calling ahead this time of year is smart to check for special events & tournaments , especially if using GolfNow for estimate of rate of play. Mid-afternoon tee times will allow lots of wildlife sightings. I found twice as many nice balls as I lost.
Beautiful course.
Enjoyed the course immensely. It had rained heavily the night before and the course had some standing water, but greens were in great shape.
Gray day but great golg
This is a very nice resort type course. Generous fairways, good greens and a tremendous staff.
Thanks for brighting a very gray dull day!
Oleander course
Great course- greens excellent condition- scenery great
Fine day of golf
My wife and I enjoyed a fine summer afternoon at Oleander. Rain showers earlier in the day slowed fairways and greens somewhat, though sun was out our entire time.
Trees are more plentiful on this course though not as tight as I had feared from other reviews.
Shooting over water on 3 holes presents problems for lesser players as myself.
Golf Now hotdeals make it a great value.
Green to Green
I have been playing this course for 30 + years and it is in its best shape ever.
DRY
Fairways and greens needed water ,some badly. The greens were airated awhile back and they were still very wide open holes. Putting ws very difficult because of the open airation holes.
pine lakes Jekyll Island, GA
Fairways are wide. If you hit a ball into the woods watch out for snakes. Greens are a little slow but very receptive.
Expected better for the area
Greens were sub par for other courses in resort destinations.
Great Vacation Golfing
Really enjoyed our Tuesday Morning round on Indian Mound; we finished in 3.5 hrs for a twosome.. Fairways and greens are in great shape for this time of year. Enjoyed the course and view, lots of wild animals to meet you while your playing..Cant wait to come back and play again..
Great bargain
Good course, especially if you want to play at a relaxed pace. Enjoyed it all.
Awesome course!!
My daughter and I are both learning the game of golf. I have only taken lessons for about a year and my daughter only a few months. But, on this particular day we decided it was time to go it alone...no instructors! Indian MOund was our course choice. At the 1st hole we had a foursome in front of us and just as my daughter hit the first drive , another foursome (all men) came up behind. We both got a little uncomfortable, not wanting to make any one have to wait on us since we are both learning.
We decided that we would ask if another course was a little less crowded ( the club has 3 courses). The staff was kind enough to let us go to another course that had fewer golfers that day.
We started our game again on OLEANDER.
Never once did we feel rushed by any of the other golfers! The views were magnificent!
The price we got through GOLF NOW was terrific!!
Although our game was not that great by any means, the time we had together was amazing!!! We had a great day!!!
I would recommend Jekyll Golf courses to anyone!!
Oleander and Indian Mound
Played back nine of Oleander and front nine of indian Mound. Very similar feel don't think there is much distinction of the courses. Played early morning hotdeal great value. Course wet from recent rains, rough grabby making all shots difficult and greens slow so everything was left short, only made 1 put outside 10 feet. Greens on the smallish size so center yardage can be played no matter the pin placement. Nice place to play.
Casual golfing
We really enjoyed the course. The par 3s were challenging playing from the gold. We played the round in less than 4 hours. We only had to wait once or twice. I would certainly take friends with me to play there.
great courses
Jekyll golf is the best in area. The courses are well kept. Easy to get tee times and the restaurant is great.
Still a Great Place to Play
Good shape overall. Course was a little soft because of heavy rain the prior days. Definitely the best of the 3 courses here. They are still closing the grill early so if you're looking for a beer after your round you'll need to go elsewhere. Very little drinking water on the course also for this time of year and no beverage cart. Message to course management, you're missing out on $$$ and providing a better experience for the player.
nice experience
You are welcomed by friendly people everywhere whether pro shop or restaurant. The course is in great shape despite a few rough patches on a couple of greens. Courses at Jekyll Island have been markedly improved since the new pro and staff were hired. Restaurant offers great breakfast and lunch. Also great products in pro shop.
Great value
Played Jekyll courses many times, pine lakes is my fav. Well maintained & friendly staff
Nice Island Golf
My wife and I were staying in St Simons for a couple of days and this was the best golf value around, Got paired up with a couple of very nice local folks and had a great round. The deer grazing beside the 3rd tee just added to the morning. Not the hardest course around but a great time.
Surpassed my expectations
I've heard/read mixed reviews about Jekyll Is courses. So, as a first timer, it def surpassed my expectaions. Shape of the course (Pine Lakes) was great! Really enjoyed holes# 17 & 18!
Very fair course. The only drawback is the drive to Jekyll Is from Savannah and the trafiic at the 'toll' station where you have to pay $6 parking fee.
