pine lakes .jekeyll island
we played the Pine lakes course.
really love the Layout.
forgiving set up. allows you to recover. greens were recovering from verti cuts and aerating ; but still played true though a little slow.
first time on jekyll island
The course had a great layout. they have had heavy thunderstorms the last few nights. Which is why they haven't mowed the tees or greens. the greens were very slow and the tee boxes had grass that was taller than the ball. I rated the course on it's condition when I played it but I think it's usually in better shape.
Wish I lived closer
Very enjoyable round of golf. Course was in very good condition, pace was great. Staff very welcoming and helpful. I was on a weekend getaway. If I lived closer, I would definitely play here often.
Great Experience
Got an awesome rate on GN. Played with a foursome and threesome and were able to play back to back with no problems. Needed to let a twosome play through once, but received excellent customer service and had a wonderful experience. Scenery is great and wildlife doesn't seem to notice golfers in their habitat. I Will definitely play here again.
Good course and value
Fun layout, good condition, good value overall. Will play again for sure.
Great Course
Everything went smoothly from arrival to tee off. Deceptively challenging course with areas being more confined than they appear to be. Deer running around the course made it more unique especially since they were not uncomfortable around people. Took the advice from another review and got the Patty Melt after our round....delicious.
Great Course
We played Pine Lakes right after we played Indian Mound. Deceptively challenging course. A lot of areas look more open than they really are. Luckily, I caught almost every good bounce off the trees. Greens could use some improvement (some bumpiness and spots where it wasn't so green). Lots of wildlife (deer, racoons, etc.) that was not afraid of people which made it even more unique and enjoyable
enjoyable course
This course is in great condition. Plays faster than the other two at Jekyll. Greens are in good shape and read true.
great course
I've played all three Jekyll courses over the past few years. Always in great shape, nice true greens. Will continue to play here for years to come
Great course for the money
Nice wide open course. Saw 4 deer, lots of birds and a gator, but no houses. The natural feel to this course made a perfect get away. Course was well kept. Staff was phenomenal. We drive 2 hours to play this course and were not disappointed. Water doesn't come in to play very often.
Poor condition
The course has a beautiful setting but the greens were in poor condition.
Hot but Fun!
It was much warmer than I would have liked but the course was in great shape, the pace of play was good and the patty melt and beer that followed were a welcome end to the day! The only hazard we visited was the gator by the tee box on 18.
GOOD VALUE... BUT
Got a great price for 2 players. Tees and fairways are in good shape. Greens are not. We played as 2some. We played fast.
Course staff are very friendly.
Overall a good deal
Not my best day at Oleander
The course was not in the greatest of shape as they had lots of weather recently. Greens also had apparently been recently sanded and aerated.
Fun course
Course was in good shape. Greens had a few dead spots and weeds, but really rolled pretty well. Overall it was in really good shape. Folks there are always friendly! Beautiful views and a gator or two.
Fun tract!
Really enjoyed my Friday afternoon round on Indian Mound; finished in 3.5 hrs. Played again on Saturday morning which was very slow play. Fareways and greens are in good shape. Greens are on the slow side. Also played Oleander which was recently aerated and greens still need a few weeks before they are rolling smooth.
Rather Disapointing
It had been a long time since last playing Oleander and unfortunately it has slipped a lot downhill. The fairways were OK but the greens and bunkers were quite disappointing. The greens were slow, rough and bumpy and several had large patches. Bunkers had not been groomed for an obviously long time. But the worst was terrible pace of play. We did fine on the front nine but ran into extremely slow play on the back nine. It took over an hour to play the next three holes. Not a ranger was in sight, nor was there a beverage cart.
It will be a long time again before I play this course again -- if ever.
Loved it.
This was an absolutely gorgeous golf course! I will be coming back to play again in the future.
Very good conditions
I played pine creek. It wa in great shape. Will definitely play again
A must play course
Great value, great course, a must play! The course is well cared for and managed. Some of the fairways are tight and if you're too far off you'll need to get out another ball.
