About Wailea Golf Resorts (Maui)
Wailea is a Hawaiian resort and residential community in south Maui. It is home to three 18-hole golf courses and a collection of luxury beachfront hotels that offer stay-and-play Hawaii golf packages. Among the brands that are partners with the Wailea Golf Club are the Destination Resorts Hawaii, Fairmont Kea Lani Maui, Four Seasons Resort Maui, Grand Wailea, Hotel Wailea and the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. An Andaz Wailea was also recently added. Fine dining is available at each resort as well as at the Wailea Golf Club's Gold & Emerald course, while an Irish pub is at the Old Blue clubhouse. Five crescent beaches make up Wailea, as well as a Tennis Club and a collection of private homes, condominiums and villas. The Gold and Emerald courses play out of the same clubhouse and were designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Old Blue is the original Wailea course, opened in 1972 and was designed by Jack Snyder.Facts

Our favorite course in Hawaii
Old Blue is our favorite course in Hawaii. I play with my husband who is 68 years old and has a 12 handicap. It is always wonderfully groomed and the design is old school. No tortured ground or blind, tricky shots. Just beautiful Hawaiian landscape. The fairways are wide and the greens are challenging. The carts are equipped with GPS and water is available at several locations. Value for the money is good when compared to most of the courses on Maui, but I can't bring myself to call it "great" which was the only other option that Golf Now gave me.
beautiful ...would play the other courses next time back
It was a beautiful day, beautiful course. We were paired with an awesome twosome from Scotland. Great day! Thanks for all. I wasn't crazy about the rental clubs...too short and different from mine. Next time, I will ship mine over ahead of time.
Typical beautiful Hawaiian golf course. This old course is a classic. Ocean views and moutain views.
Paired me up with a 7 handicap guy from Australia and we had a wonderful time. Played the Blue Tees which is a little challenging for my 14 handicap but held my own because the course is a little more forgiving than the other Wailea courses. Paid to have my wife drive the cart but worth it to see this beautiful course and it's remarkable views.
The greens were not so great.
For the amount of money paid I felt the greens would be in better shape. The pin placement had at least 5 other old pin placements within two feet of the new cup. They were not filled in well. Very bumpy. Why would you put the new pin placement for the day within such close proximity to each other. How about 20 feet away.
great views and terrain and layout bad customer service
This was my second time to play the gold course. The previous time was 10 years earlier on my honeymoon. I was really surprised in how poor the staff treated us. The check in person the person we rented the clubs from and the entire staff we came In contact with were very short and dismissive. It was very odd. The course wasn't busy but everyone there, except the starter seemed to be in bad mood. Course views and layout awesome.greens very slow. Customer service needs major improvement.
Decent course with nice staff and some interesting holes.
Great views of the ocean and surrounding islands from nearly every hole on the course. Greens are okay, and fairways are decent. But not like a true resort course. Overall, fun day on a fun course, but nothing to write home about.
One Great Course
A fantastic course overall, the layout throughout the residential areas was well thought out. Breathtaking views of the ocean from many of the holes, beautifly trees lining the fairways make this course a memorable one. Definatly a course that should be put onto everyones golf list. The staff are exceptional and friendly.
One great experience :)
Great resort course
Easier than Wailea Gold, same great conditions and beautiful views, Emerald is fun to play and won't bring you to your knees. Staff is also excellent. Tends to be a lot less windy and wet than the Kalua and Kaanapali courses. If you can play here and Makena, you'll have two super memories of Maui. Just accept that golf in Maui is very expensive!
sanded, but we were treatled with royalty
Course is one of the best on the island and we will return often
Great couse
The staff was super friendly. We were able to find great rates at GolfNow.
One of the best options on Maui
The course was in good shape overall. It is challenging but fair with good variety of holes. The pace of play was excellent. I've played every course on the Island. Wailea Gold and Emerald are very good options in terms of overall experience, service conditions and value.
Wailea is perfect
Beautifully laid out course. When the wind is low the course can play pretty easy. Wide fairways and big greens. The views you just cant beat anywhere else, unless you're in Hawaii.
This Course Is Why You Play Golf in Maui
Emerald Course at half price is twice the fun. The pace of play was somewhat slowed by the constant taking of photos at each hole to remind ourselves that we were really there. Picturesque is an understatement to describe Wailea Golf Resort. The service is outstanding from the practice facility to the bar. Oh yeah, the course was gorgeous and in top condition. My only problem is that I couldn't birdie a hole after the 1st, which led to my realization that my game is the same on the mainland or in paradise.
