Scenic and Challenging
Overall, this is one of the nicest courses I've ever played. It's challenging with lots of slopes in all directions, significant elevation changes from tee box to green, bunkers right where you want to hit your tee shot, bunkers protecting greens, greens placed next to drop offs, undulating greens, some narrow sections of fairway and a few water features (on the back nine) to hit over.
The course is very well maintained. The only negative was some of the bunkers were poorly draining and eroding. It looked like a couple were being rebuilt from the subgrade on up, which suggests they want to correct it and not just throw some more sand on top to get through the season.
The course itself is thoughtfully nestled into rolling woodlands with some grand views of the surrounding hills. Wild turkeys and pheasants on the course offer an additional distraction to an already challenging course. Nature lovers will be in awe of this place.
Good Day Golfing
We had a great time even if our Game was less than we had Hoped for :(
Group of 40
They had 40 people go off of number 1 in groups of 4. So there were 10 groups of 4 backed up at the first holes. I had a group of 2 and it took a long time to play. The course should have never allowed this to happen. Poor planning on their part. course is beautiful though
Gorgeous Course!!!
If you live close GO PLAY THIS COURSE!! This course is by far one of the nicest public courses in KY. This course is meticulously maintained and it shows. The fairways were like hitting off of a tee!! Greens were perfect and fast, but be warned this course is pretty difficult, as there are lots of hilly fairways, so lots of balls above and below your feet. Overall a very scenic course. You will not be disappointed in this course.
This course has to many bunkers
There is to many sand traps on the course with the rough terrain to maintain looks like. I grew up in Cumberland county and have played this course a lot. I would recommend taking out some of the traps and just grassing them in. Makes sense, especially economically!!!!
Disappointing
Great layout. Bunkers were horrible. Staff was rude. Course was empty due to aeriated greens, no range balls available unless we went and picked up our own from the range. Attendant said we couldn't go off twenty minutes before our tee time because golf now didn't allow it/even though there were four cars in the parking lot. Ridiculous.
Amazing Value
First time playing this course but would absolutely return if I didn't live in Knoxville haha. Great value and underpriceud in my opinion. Beautiful and challenging layout and I would highly recommend this course to anyone.
Not spray ball friendly
The course is pretty, but you got to keep it in play because of lots of woods. Bunkers are not kept up very well. Lot of hills.
Dale. Hollow
I love this course, has to be the most scenic in the state, the only complaint are the bunkers which were unplayable, they need to flatten out the bunkers, because the are so steep they keep getting washed out. Still a favorite.
Day After a Rain
Our play was cart path only, so course very wet. Play pace was terrible, had to skip holes to continue play.
always a treat!
The course is a fabulous layout with a wide variety of holes. The bunkers were the only thing that was a distraction but they were wet and some were not in good shape. Overall when in the area I always try to play this course. A little pricey but we purchased on golfnow and was really good price.
BEAUTIFUL
it`s all good...always a fun day...have lunch or dinner at the lodge,,,
Greens had been punched.
Wonderful course. Would have been nice to know greens had been punched recently. Recently slowed down the ball and took the breaks out.
excellent course
one of best public courses in Kentucky. would recommend for all
great course
Great course would like to play it everyday if I lived closer.
Great Course and Great Value
Beautiful Course with lots of challenging holes. Fairways are championship quality at public prices. Bring your boat and clubs too so you can play all day.
Wonderful course.
Greens and fairways are the best of anywhere I've played. Elevation changes also add to the pleasure in playing this course.
But some of the sand traps are unplayable, and if you are out of the fairway....look out.
5 tee boxes assist seniors, but weak Golfers will find this course difficult as many of the shots to the green are uphill. A missed shot is punished.
One of my favorite courses.
Beautiful course.
Enjoyed playing the course. It was quite warm on the first 9 but the back 9 was very enjoyable. We had to stay on the cart path so it was a little tough for us Michiganders to do all that up and down the hills.
Beautiful course in good shape
Zoyza grass fairways in ky!! Nice. Golfnow great deal.
Amazing state park course
Everything about this course is great with one exception, about half of the bunkers are more like quarrys with all the rocks. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are like playing on carpet. Every other aspect is amazing, and this is a must play course when in Ky! It's nice to have such a great public course available.
