Tanglewood Golf Course

The best advertising (especially for a day of golf) is word of mouth. The worst from is also word of mouth. When you have to wait 20 minutes between holes (due to 5 or more players in front actually sent me packing. Sad I had to pay the fee and not even play 9 holes. You can bet I’ll use the worst form of advertising for this course, especially traveling 40 minutes to play it

Tee-Off had this course as their featured course! They should play it before they make it a featured course

As long as you don’t get behind a 5 some of entitled members you’re fine. Course is in decent shape for early in the year. Greens were pretty slow.

Staff greeted us with smiles. Had a hot dogs prepared as well. They were cooking hamburgers and brats. Course was in decent condition given the fact it is late season golf. Not many leaves on ground to hinder golf. Rough was a little long and had trouble finding golf balls. This course favors a shot that draws and has many fairways that have major slope from left to right. I play a slight fade and had quite a few shots that ended up in right rough or lost. Course knowledge is a must. Advice - run down the fairway before hitting tee shots and some of the approach shots to be able to judge landing zones OR have one of the locals join your group. Many surprises await the non informed. Back 9 has 2 drivable par 4’s (10 & 18). Very challenging course indeed.

Course Staff were great!

Course was in good condition and the staff was nice.

The pace of play was very slow and the person working told us before we started they had several foursomes ahead of us.

I would expect instead of starting everyone on time they would have us have a drink at the bar and give them time to get a hole or two ahead.

Great value. Course layout is moderate with a few challenging holes. Currently a senior and now play from the golds. Impressed with the greens and most tee boxes but the fairways fall a bit short of my expectations. All and all an enjoyable time each and every time. Many thanks to the staff and grounds keepers. This is the worse golf course I’ve ever played in my life. No fairways, greens were dirt and the tee boxes were weeds. This course should be called Tumbleweed

Overall the course is ‘fine’. The greens were a little sandy, but rolled ok. The cart paths were absolutely horrible. Treacherous. There is no way to ride on them at even a modest speed without violent bounces, bangs, shocks, etc.

the cars were again, fine. Nothing necessarily wrong with them. Updating couldn’t hurt.

The fairways were a challenge. So many sideways hills made hitting a fairway a 50/50 chance of it staying up. Consecutive Par 5’s isn’t necessarily traditional. The pro shop was well stocked and the staff was friendly. They claimed to have a “driving range’ didn’t have balls and was only about 100 yards long. All in all, it was an OK course, but if pressed, better value and conditions can be found around Louisville.

We got there at 4 didn’t tee off till 40 mins later 2 groups of four and a group of 7 in front of us. They were taking 2-3 tee shots. The only reason I’m writing this is because we didn’t get to finish. needless to say this course needs a marshal and I understand that more people means good money for this kinda course but they should atleast consider not ruining everyone’s day for it. Front nine first 3 greens were terrible they were hard as ice and divots everywhere. Should really water them as much as possible. Besides that course is pretty amazing. Love the layout and conditions a pretty good
