Shanty Creek

Weather was terrible yet course refused to close or reschedule our tee time denying us a refund unless we played. Weather was too bad to play through, literally snow/sleet rain mix 43 degrees and 20 mph winds yet refused to work with us, left after 3rd hole complete waste of money. Course looks nice but if this is the way they do business there's plenty of other courses around.

(Played on 6-12-20)... We prepaid for all 16 of our guys rounds via phone about a week before our tee times. We showed up around 20 min before our tee time and there was nobody there to greet us when we arrived. Our tee times were from 3:40-4:10pm on a beautiful Friday afternoon and we never saw one attendant from the course. We have played this course several times over the last 10 years and this was also by far the worst condition the course was in compared to all the other Shanty courses (Cedar River (the best one) and the Chief) in the area we played the same weekend. The greens were fuzzy and not fast like they usually are and the tee boxes and fairways were also unusually long. The fairways were also somewhat brown in spots which we have never seen before and the was not manicured how it typically is. Definitely an very underwhelming experience for usually such a fantastic course and layout.

Unique layout using the natural terrain well. Greens were good speed and true but many golfers did not repair their ball marks. Several holes will be better played after first time. Should not be so expensive - surrounding courses are just as good but less than half the price.

Highly impressed with the course. In great shape. Everyone was friendly. Staff was very courteous. Would recommend as a must play. Beautiful scenery. Awesome layout. I have nothing bad to say about out it. Only reason for 4 stars on price is because I am a tight wad. If you are a golfer you will enjoy.

The course was in excellent shape as well as perfect weather for golf. The fairways were clean - a little soft but nice. The greens were fair and a little on the fast side but readable. This is one of my favorite courses within 50 miles - and we have a lot of courses.

Played on a Monday. Friendly staff, nice layout, not crowded at all mid-day. Fairly long (Senior gold tees were 5600 yds). Red tees shorter. Would not hesitate playing there again.

My husband and I absolutely loved this course! Stunning views, great elevation, excellent greens! We have played several courses in the area and Hawk’s Eye is one of favorites, if not our favorite. Play here!

I made a good choice with this course. I loved the layout and the elevation changes. Beautiful course. Can't think of a negative so good in my books. It was a very cool with some rain at the end of the round but had the course to myself pretty much. It was a cold Tuesday midday tee time and I got there early and they let me go off alone.

This is a beautiful championship style course located just outside of Shanty Creek resort. If you visit the area, you won’t find a better course for the money. The course is challenging without being unfair. Along with many of the other courses in the area, the scenery alone is worth the price of the round. You won’t be disappointed with your day here.
