About Shanty Creek
The 5,000 acres of Shanty Creek Resorts are spread among three villages - Cedar River, Schuss and Summit, each with at least one golf course, restaurant and accommodations galore. The Summit is arguably home base with the Lakeview Lodge housing the Lakeview Restaurant, the spa and the Legend and Summit golf courses. The resort added the Hawk's Eye course and accommodations across the street in 2021.Facts

Great old course
This is a great old time course. Well worth your time and money. It is one of northern Michigan's best kept secrets.
Beautiful out of the way gem
Great course that is very challenging but playable. The scenery was breathtaking.

GREAT COURSE!!
It was about 45 minutes from Traverse City, but we’ll worth the drive. Probably the best layout I have played in the area and I have played them all. And the course was kept in impeccable shape.

Great Condition
We picked a nice warm morning to play. Course was in great condition for all the rain we've received lately. Fairways were in good condition as well as the greens. We did get wet before the round was over - very wet - but it was a warm rain. This is a nice looking course.

Awesome sauce
First time at hawk eye got a great deal and the course was perfect conditions greens where a little slow but it was hot out

Would return
Pace was a bit slow on occasion but to be expected for a single. Elevation drop and climb can be difficult to judge at times .White tee boxes could be a bit more forgiving
and can play long especially on a windy day. All in all for what I payed it was a great course.

Fun round, great course, bunkers need work
A great layout that offers generous landing areas off most tees. Only disappointment is the bunkers. They have tiny pebbles in them and need more sand. They really don’t match the quality of the conditions you see at this course. We got a hot deal for $65, but if you are paying $100 for a round, you would expect the bunkers to be better than your local muni.
Still enjoyed my round and will come back. Hopefully some future investment is coming.

Beautiful weather, friendly staff, nicely maintained.
The course itself is nice and fairly easy.
I was looking for a course where my daughter and I can get 18 in for some practice, Golf Now special at $39, can't beat that price for that area.

Most underrated course at Shanty
This course is not the most challenging. But the course conditions were the best and the green speeds were consistent from green to green. They were extremely fast. If you have a day to play and think the Legend or Cedar River I would give Schuss a try.
