Fun course
First time I played here. I reallly enjoyed the desert course and felt like it was in great shape. The sand in the bunkers was hard but if you just stay out of those the course is in great shape.
Great deal
Great price and a very nice day at primm valley resort
Very good course with interesting views.
Worth the stop on the way to or from Las Vegas. Fazio is a master at his craft. I love the views of the Interstate, the solar farm, the mountains, the desert. Great day of golf.
Primm valley Golf
We always look forward to playing Primm. Pace of play is excellent, course conditions are very good, especially for a complex in the middle of the desert.
But, the real asset to the courses is the staff.
Julie, Kyle and Mark made sure we had an enjoyable ezperience.
We played the Desert Course Saurday and Lakes on Sunday and had a great experience on both,
We can't wait to return!
Great course, attractive and easy to access
Friendly staff, helpful and knowledgeable. We played the Lakes and it was challenging enough for us as a couple with a handicap of 21 and 33. It was close to 100 degrees by 2PM. Thankfully, the beverage girl came by frequently and offered complementary bottles of water and ice and drinks for purchase. The price for beverages was reasonable in comparison to other courses. One final comment, the Lakes course has a lot more shade than the desert course.
Primm Valley Lake Course Reveiw
Fairways were in poor condition. Grass appeared to need water or something. Bunkers had not sand. All were hard pan. Greens had some damage. Need repair of the greens. Overall I would not recommend the course in its current condition.
Not worth the trip
To start I am an avid mid handicap golfer who has checked off many/most of the top Vegas courses over time. Guess Shadow Creek and Cascata remain on my list. I have always wanted to get out to Primm Valley so was eagerly anticipating the round.
Even brought a couple of friends with me who would never have considered going out to Primm.
Played a Friday morning round. Layout of the course and club house amenities were excellent. Course just wasn't in very good shape. Played the Lakes Course. Fairways were patchy, greens a bit shaggy and patchy in spots. Not sure if the course has suffered some disease in the grass or just general upkeep issues. Bottomline the conditions of the courses I played in Vegas proper on the same weekend seemed to be in better shape. Also a Golfnow critique - I made the tee time several weeks in advance, Golfnow obviously had my email but never informed me the greens on the Desert Course would be punched? After a bit of haggling Primm allowed us to play Lakes instead. Not sure if there is any "punched" notice responsibility but was disappointed I didn't find out until I arrived.
Stay Away
We have played Primm Valley many times in the past but not in the last 3 years. We found the course conditions horrible. Spotty areas in the fairways and rough and very very very slow greens.
We traveled 45 minutes from LasVegas and expected much better than this
Either the course superintendent needs to be fired or the course needs to spend lots more on Maintainence.
Stay away
Lots of sand traps with no sand
The course was great besides the traps. The traps literally had no sand in them. And because of the severity of the depth and lip heights, it was nearly impossible to get out of traps. A normally great course was made entirely substandard
Great layout, great views
We really enjoyed our round on Desert course. Every hole has great views, no houses and it was very quiet. Course was relatively empty. Worth driving from Las Vegas.
Worth the drive
Had read a few reviews of Primm and we managed to get a Hot Deal on Golfnow. The pace was a bit slow until we managed to pass the group holding us up. The conditions were good and would play again for the same price.
Nice views and lots of interesting holes
After all my planing for this golf trip, I forgot to bring my putter!!!! Staff there gave me a putter to use for both rounds I played here. Very accommodating. Golf course is still struggling from dry conditions but layout is a lot of fun.
Beautiful layout, poor condition
Primm Valley is a beautiful setting in the desert. Layout was challenging but reasonable. Condition of the course was poor. Fairways were rough, greens inconsistent. We paid 89.00 to play. It was worth more like 40. If you want a desert setting for golf go to the Paiute Golf instead of this place!
Worth the drive
This course is about 30 min from town, very affordable, and in good shape. 2 18 hole loops. Both different from the other. Large practice facility nice balcony for drinks. And the staff is very friendly, they want your business.
Not like it used to BE
we have been coming to Primm for 10 years, in the last 3 years the Course has gone down hill, customer service was almost nil, shape of the fairways on the lake side pretty poor. first nine we did the lakes, slow play a group of 40 were ahead of us. we moved to the Desert side for the remaining 9 holes, the Desert side is in much better shape the fairways were good. It seems the Course Management have put profit ahead of keeping a quality course
Good bones gone bad
U can see it was a grest course but has suffered from low revenues.greens are good fairways are thin traps need sand
Worth the drive
Gorgeous views, well payed out without those 4 minute drives between holes, multiple holes with risk reward/multiple ways to play the hole....loved everything about this course. Would play it again in a heartbeat
A good day despite the wind!
We were unlucky with the wind. It was definitely a factor but not too much to handle. The course is a fun, challenging and scenic layout. Lots of water. The tees and fairways were in good condition. The greens were in disappointing condition with lots of holes and scars, but I'd still play it again.
