Good course on the way to Vegas
Stopped by played a round for the first time, good lay out, back nine is a bit boring. Friendly staffs.
Excellent value in Vegas area
It is definitely a long drive from the strip, but they've had incredible deals on GolfNow the last two trips I've made to Vegas. I played in October after overseeding, but the course was still very playable. The layout is great. There are several challenging holes, but the course is very manageable if you are striking the ball well.
Well protected green
Green construction kept us thinking on approach and on the green itself. Sloping fairways required drive placement without too much penalty on one side.
Tough Greens
I enjoyed the course, I like the layouts and the design of the course. The greens were very tough, they were rolling fast, and the wind was really blowing. We played in just over 4 hours 10 minutes, I would definitely play again. There were a few brown spots due to the water issues that we are having.
Fazio Friendly
This has got to be one of Tom Fazio's more user friendly tracks. Generous fairways with side slopes to help keep your ball in play. Nice undulating greens with backboards you could always throw long shots into and they'd roll back. One of my favorites.
Worth the drive!
Nice water holes. Drivable par 4 (always fun). Friendly staff.
Great for the price
For the price, this course is a steal. Worth the drive. Nice greens, fairways are grassy and each hole is a different. For $30..... its a deal.
Upscale in the middle of nowhere
Nice course and facility. Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. I played the Desert Course. Considering the water shortage in the area the course was in pretty good condition. It was a little windy so that made for some challenging shots. A few doglegs, elevation changes and some narrow fairways make it a good test. Greens were in good shape. If you are driving back to LA from Vegas, I would recommend that you leave early and stop here to play.
Could this really be the middle of the desert?
Drove 60 miles (on I-15, so less than an hour) southwest of Vegas to get there. Hard to believe the layout was as nice as it was. Rolling hills, lakes, etc., can I really be in the desert? Played the Lakes course. We were told there was a tournament going on, and thought uh-oh. No problem, things went smoothly.
conditions
Course was not in that great of shape. Tee boxes and fairways need some help. Would suggest elsewhere in Lv with some many other choices.
Good golf for a fair price
Great track...nice condition. ...friendly staff. ..excellent greens...nice scenary
we really enjoyed this course
A beautiful and solid course - and in great condition
First and most important: pace of play. We finished in a bit over 4 hours. There were two of us, at least 2 groups ahead of us that we could see. Everyone moved along nicely until the last 3 holes. Not sure what happened, but I'm giving it a pass. There are plenty of places for wide hitters to get into trouble. We found 6 "unclaimed" balls on our fairways during our round - most likely overshots from adjacent holes (and yes, we left them there). Bunkers, water, doglegs, uphill, downhill - you can have it all. I'll go again.
Short sleeves in November
Everyone always talks about the Lakes course and it is beautiful. I prefer the Desert course. It is a little tougher and has a more rugged character. The day we were there the greens were great but the fairways had a couple of holes in the them. Not bad. Just a couple spots the overseed didn't fill in.
Great course
Great afternoon of golf... A bit slow but we enjoyed the sceneries and the warm weather. Green and fairways in good shape . Excellent value for the money $ 29.00 for a tee time at 1130.
We will return
A hidden Fazio gem...
The Lakes course is an oasis in the middle of the CA/NV desert. It offers a challenging round for low handicap golfers while high-handicappers can equally enjoy the course playing from the forward tees. As the namesake suggests, the course is sprinkled with lakes and water hazards but proper course management allows average golfers to post a reasonable score while scratch golfers (or risk takers) can take on the challenge and post birdies throughout the course. The fairways are in outstanding shape and most feel like playing off of carpet. The course is a great value for the money so get out there and enjoy this Fazio gem!
challenging but not overwhelming
Primm Valley Desert course was an entertaining golf outing which showcased a very reasonably priced course that was in very good condition at this time of year(early November).
Great Day, Great course
Only a couple of spots left after overseeding, greens were in excellent condition, course is always a great play. Played a little slow, but that is expected in mid-day, so I have no complaints.
Primm Valley Desert
What a great course. Both the Desert and Lakes courses are a pleasure to play. I have played them before and always enjoy them. I am always treated well, the course is always maintained, and it is always fun.
A few bumps but, not bad.
I am a high handicapper. I have only been playing now for about a year. This course was very challenging and I really had a great time trying to keep up with the course. But a few things confused me concerning the staff, ...
1. When we checked in, the guy at the pro shop told us our range balls were complimentary, when we got outside, the guys said we had to pay for them. No big deal.
2. No one thought it would be courteous to inform our group that the greens were recently aerated. There weren't any signs posted. No big deal either.
3. The other players golf bag was not secured properly (by the staff) to the cart and fell off onto concrete scratching some of his clubs. No big deal to him (or me I guess).
4. Although the cart lady had a full compliment of alcohol, she didn't have regular soda to mix our drinks and we had to ask her for a cup of ice to put our drinks in. I've seen more courteous cart girls at less expensive courses.
In conclusion, I am very glad I purchased my tee time through golf now, had I paid the regular price to play here, I would have expected more. Besides the greens being littered with fill sand, the overall course was great to play. I look forward to going back and hopefully the staff was just having an off day.
A perfect day!
The weather and scenery was spectacular! Course needs a little TLC ...Lost a lot a balls ...not the course's fault...nice and long. Always enjoy playing here...staff very friendly.
