Good
Good friends ,nice day and only a little windy at the end.It was the Lakes at Red Hawk. Very nice day in ok shape for this time of year the greens had been done maybe 2 weeks ago. They were coming back should be real good next week. The wind came up on around the 15 hole so the 17th was a lot of carry to get over the lake. All and all a good day with my buddies.
Sandy Greens
I wish they would of told us before we booked that the greens were just pluged and full of sand. They also did not say anything about the High School tournament that was going on which we could not use the driving range or the putting greens.
Excellent course
Red Hawk to me is the best course in Reno/Sparks area for sure! Great course!
Expensive for spring golf
Would have paid $20 or $40 more for better course in Portal or Clio. First hole, bunkers were filled with water and ponds around course looked parched. Golf carts are better than most courses in Reno.
Two golf courses at one location
We played the Lakes course as the Hills course was closed, not sure why. They are also working on the driving range, so only a few spots on mats were available for warm up. Good putting and chipping area. It's early in the season, but course is green already and in decent shape.
Husband always complains when the pre-programmed carts instruct you to stay 30 feet from the green and stop working even though you are still 30 or more yards from the green. It is annoying.
Apres golf, visit the clubhouse bar and David's Grill, you won't be disappointed.
Great course. Slow play.
I hate having to whine to the pro-shop about slow play, but we were behind a pathetically slow group who didn't allow us to play through. Called the pro shop and they asked the four stooges to speed up at the turn. They didn't. Took 5 hours to play! To add insult, an apparel cop gave me grief for not having a collared shirt AFTER our round and AFTER turning in my cart. I explained that I removed my collared shirt at the end of the round. No apology. Really? All other staff were great. Otherwise, a great course with nice amenities. Upon check-in, inform players that golf is a 4-hour game MAX and to be courteous and respectful to others by getting out of the way.
Very Good Course
Very nice layout, in excellent condition, but needs some yardage markers.
Excellent Course
The course was in really good shape with great views!
This is my favorite course in the Reno area. It is also my home course as I am only 5 minutes from course.
Also really like the pro shop with excellent products and selections. David’s Grill also has very good food.
Typical overbooking …. Horrendous pace of play
If you want 5+ Hr rounds for top dollar this is your place.
