Alittle cold but great terrain.
The 36 hole layout is great I wish more courses would build at least additional nines to speed up play.
excellent course, long round though
course is in excellent shape, greens were good for this time of year, good test with ample room to spray some drives, round was slow with tournaments in front, only minor complaint
Nice but covered with goose droppings.
We played on a Monday and pace was fine. Bunkers were hard as a rock, goose droppings covered the fairways anywhere near a pond and there are ponds/water on most holes. They really need a border collie to chase off the geese. And they need to deep rake the bunkers.
Practice facility was good except the practice green was very fast compared to the actual greens that had been punched 4 weeks earlier. When they punch greens they should punch the practice green as well so that the practice is worth while. I practiced putting for 20 minutes only to find out that it was pointless.
nice course, but poorly maintained. very disappointing.
Greens punched over 2 weeks ago, but although healed, had never been rolled. Very disappointing. Practice space very poor. Hard to believe this is billed as a resort course. Pace of play ridiculously slow.
Had to leave after 15 holes as was on a 5+ hour pace.
Great Course
Course in nice shape especially for mid Oct. Staff very courteous! Greens take a lot of getting used to, FAST!
Needed a Enforcing Marshal
This was a pleasant course except the pace of play was dragging due to the foursome group a few holes ahead. This group was averaging 25 minutes a hole!!!!!! It was driving my friends and myself crazy. The Marshal talked to the group twice but did not back up his threat of asking them to leave. Or perhaps the Marshal could have made the slow group let a few normal paced players go ahead.
This course is great, challenging, the greens are fast and smooth.
The course s very well maintained, the greens are fast and roll true. From the black tees, the up hill holes make the course longer but the long down hill holes are still able to make par.
Go play it!
Moderate to challenging course depending upon tee selection. Scenery is beautiful. Course was in excellent condition and fun to play. Reward was there for good shot making. Had such a good time am playing it again next week from different tees.
Beautiful Layout
The Lakes course is a beautiful layout and was in great condition when we played. Depending on your choice of tees, the course can be easy to very challenging.
The frustration in our day (other than our golf abilities) was the slow play (5:15). Three groups on one tee box is excessive. Turns out there was a tournament in front of us and some of the players were drunk (9:00am tee time).
Great value for the reasonable green fees.
Course lay-out was very fun to play, fairways and greens are in excellent condition. If you are in the Sparks area, you must play at this course. We played the Lake course, booked online at GolfNow and received a discounted rate.
Enjoyed the round very much.
Carts were nice and clean with GPS.
Course condition was very good.
Only downside is hitting off mats on driving range.
The course and staff were great. Will play this course whenever I am back in this area.
The tone for the day was set when we met Malcolm at the bag drop. Staff was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. The course was in excellent condition. I consider myself to be a hacker and therefore found this course challenging and fun to play. I would strongly recommend this course to anyone traveling to the Reno/Sparks, NV area.
Redhawk Hills course a great place to play
The starter Jack was so helpful and friendly to both myself and my wife, that its a no brainer that we will return!
The pro Ken was so nice to invite us back to play the lakes course next time we came out.
Challenging course from the black tees
Course is in excellent condition. I got a great deal through golfnow.com. The course plays long if played from the black tees. It brings a lot more trouble into play. The par 5's are reachable in two and they provide excellent birdie opportunities. Great course, I have played it a handful of times over the years and it is always well maintained and staffed.
GPS in the golf carts is awesome!!
The GPS in the golf carts is the best I've seen and the course is fun and very well maintained. The fairways, bunkers, and greens are in great shape. The water on most of the holes demands well executed shots! Great value.
Loved the course
Great course, with great facilities - love the GPS in the cart!
This is a course you can't help but appreciate and enjoy.
Course layout is definitely set up for carts (I'm usually a walker) due to distance to next tee box. Thoroughly enjoyed the challenging course layout and difficulty. Probably would only golf this course with discounted pricing - full price is a bit much.
Our foursome was able to complete our round in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Course was well maintained and in excellent condition on all the fairways and greens. Will play this course again on our next visit to the Reno area.
One of the greatest courses in Reno/Sparks, NV
The course was well-maintained and challenging. The club has two courses (Lakes and Hills). I played the Lakes course based on the recommendation of the starter, who was very friendly. The pace was good and finished the round within 4 hours. The Lake course has many water hazards and bunkers to test your swing accuracy. The greens were well maintained; but tough. It was a enjoyable course for a round of golf
Starter put me on the Hill course, course has few hazards thus is some what is easy.
Hills course is nice, has some long holes, sand traps were okay.
Redhawk - Lakes Course
I booked the round for 2 of us for the Hills course. The starter told us that the Hills was playing slowly that day due to an earlier tournament however, we could play the Lakes course which was wide open. We chose that and the course was clear to play at a great pace. It was fun, there are many sand traps and water hazards. I enjoyed the course, it was challenging and it was in good shape. The only hole I was not crazy about was the par 3, 17th. Very long par 3 demanding all carry over water. My parter is a good golfer but not a long hitter, but there is no place to play that hole if you can't hit a big drive into the wind.
