Crystal Springs Resort

About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Difficulty
Crystal course is a difficut one but I'm an amature player that just started 2 years ago. I would play it when I get better. If you are looking for a challenge then this should get you in the right direction. Thank you Crystal Springs very enjoyable.
Pace of play
Pace of play on the front 9 was the worst and slowest I’ve ever experienced in my 20 years of golf.
Absurd price hike
Used to love coming up here to play several times a year. For whatever reason other than sheer greed, they went from $80-90 to $127. Absolutely disgusting. Its not a special course at all. Stop price gauging.
Black Bear
Challenging course.
*Carts are tired and slow. You would expect EV with GPS. Replacements needed.
*Many bunkers needed new sand. Too many stones mixed in with dirt and sand.
Crystal Clear choice
Challenging but a great course with amazing views. We had an issue with the cart but seems like a one off. Highly recommended l
Great course…and great meal afterwards.
Beautiful course was in great condition and fun to play. Not too difficult and very fair. Got an unlucky draw with the two other players they paired us with for our foursome but it could have been much worse I suppose. They were nice enough & weren’t bad golfers but their pace of play was intolerable. They literally took an additional 1-2 minutes for each shot once they addressed the ball, just from aligning, practice swings, and what seemed to be meditation for crissakes. Can’t help getting a big whiff of entitlement from the players at Crystal Springs and it can be a very odd mix of nouveau riche and NYC area trash, but I did like the course and god bless the starter, I don’t know how he does it, lol.
Be sure to grab lunch or dinner at The Chef’s Garden after your round. Much better than a $15 hot dog from the turn station.
tee boxes
tee boxes need to reseed, bad shape. gps in cart won't work unless you give name, number and email then after all that it still wouldn't work. frustrating when you pay 110 dollars for a round of golf at crystal springs
Tee boxes need work
GPS doesn't work in the cart unless you give all your info, then it still didn't work. Tee boxes need a lot of work.
Wonderful Experience - Chuck (Starter) is great!
What a great track. Well kept, interesting holes, challenging but not as hard as crystal springs, I enjoyed all of it. Chuck the starter was great! Gave some great insights and was very friendly. Great way to start the round.
