Course is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen
I have been playing Wild Turkey for over 5 years. I am honestly astounded at how bad of condition it has been in this season. I’ve played it twice over the last 3 months and while I thought I just got unlucky in June, I am floored at how bad of shape the course is in. I used to bring clients and friends over Crystal springs to play ballyowen and WT with wild Turkey being one of my favorite courses. But now wild Turkey is actually Unplayable this year. Everything from tee to green needs basic repairs and bare minimum attention. Don’t even get me started on the bunkers. Someone at CS needs to fix this. A great track that has gone into complete disrepair. I love this facility but I’m going to be done playing there/ recommending until something changes.
GOLFNOW USER
After waiting over twenty minutes I finally found the employee parking a cart. I figured since I paid in full online that I would be able to grab cart. He said it would be an add’l $10 and I needed to check in inside. My friend and I just looked at each other and followed him. After saying he will take the loss and take it up with you, we asked for a second cart. He said no as it was just the two of us. I told him we are charged $10 each so if we were willing to pay for it, what difference would it be? He then said that he was too busy and couldn’t spare the cart. Really??? We had the place to ourselves outside of maybe six other golfers. Very skeptic and will have second thoughts in booking here in the future.
Great place for players learning the game.
My wife is just learning to play, and has graduated from pitch and putt to a more authentic golf experience. Minerals is a great place for players that are making that transition. Plenty of obstacles for a fun challenge, but not enough to create a frustrating experience. Most hole lengths are short enough for those who are still learning how to strike for distance, while the blue tees offer enough yardage for seasoned players to break out the longer irons, and an occasional wood. The tee boxes, fairways and greens have all been in great shape the two rounds we have played there. We will definitely be back.
PS. If you hit the ball to the right on the 4th green, don't go get it unless you want to get yelled at by a crazy old dude. Our playing partner was berated quite vehemently for accidentally slicing his tee shot toward the condos.
First time playing here. Nice course for me and my son who is learning the game. Starter is fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Great views, course in very good shape.
Nice course. Very slow.
Took 5.5 hours to play 18 year on a weekday at 11:30am. Very very slow. No ranger or anything around to speed up the pace. Challenging course with small greens and tight fairways. A few drivable par 4’s and some fun par 5’s. Would play here again but maybe in the off season.
Overpriced. Very slow round.
Tee time was for 12:50 PM. I checked in with the starter and saw I still had a few minutes before my scheduled tee time, and the foursome in front of me had just teed off. Went to the practice green and was yelled at by starter to be “ready to tee off at 12:50”. Was forced to tee off as soon as the group in front of us took their second shot, instead of waiting for them to reach the green. Tee boxes are in alright condition. Greens are alright, a lot of ball marks. Not spectacular. Bunkers are TRASH and unplayable. No marshal present to tell the foursome in front of us to hurry up, and stop hitting multiple balls off tees and fairways on EVERY HOLE!! 5 hour round.
Not worth the money. Should have been $50-$70 for a round, not $130. Many better courses around. Pro shop staff was nice.
Put some money into your courses if you want people to keep coming back.
Difficult but FUN
I’ve always heard about this course, and I have to tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. Conditions were great, in spite of all the rain they’d gotten. All the greens are flawless and rolling perfectly. I am a single handicapper but a few holes did jump out and bite me in the butt. The best advise I received (from the starter), and would like to share with you is keep the driver in the bag unless you absolutely have to use it. 200 yard off the tee will save you a lot of strokes. That par 3 off the cliff is an absolute gem. What a beautiful view.
The post round meal and service was delicious. Staff was very friendly as well. My only disappointment from my whole experience at crystal springs was that the driving range was closed.
Cascades
All in all the staff was very friendly.. the course wasn't pretty good shape although a few of the greens and approach shots were just a mess. It's unfortunate that the players don't replace David and fix big divots
Stupidest design I have ever played
I don't mind a hard golf course ; but this one is just a stupid layout. The dude that cut the pins today was a sadist!
Great course
This course will definitely be on my top places to play list.
The layout is very simple and beautiful. Will be coming back for sure.
No signs on course
Loved the course as I am a starter and allows me to be aggressive and not fear losing balls. Lots of bunkers but it sure beats water lol. Only wish there were some markings either at the holes or on the pathways
