Had great time and great price. The course is in great shape !
Tight Tight Tight
One of the narrowest courses I’ve ever played but an enjoyable challenge. The greens at little over protected with sand. Really enjoyed the scenery. The par 3’s are great. Course was in good shape. Biggest complaint was the pace I was by myself and still took 31/2hours .was not busy but with no ranger people don’t feel the need to let you play thru or move at a decent pace.
No discount for aerated greens
Played on a blustery April day when absolutely no one else was on the course. The man working the counter told us that the greens had been aerated the week before. Now, I understand that aerated greens make for less than ideal conditions, but these greens were atrocious- every put was knocked off line. There wasn’t enough sand on the greens- it was a joke. After the round we asked for some sort of discount and were told we had been warned. Yes, but that’s assuming the aeration island sanding didn’t make craters and bumps that would make the ball fly in the air while putting. Some sort of compensation should have been offered for a terrible experience.
Little disappointed
Usually black bear is a wonderful course, but today (4/08/2919) fairways not cleaning well, green is terrible so many small hole, I think you need wait to May for playing golf on Black Bear.
Cheers to Crystal Springs!
Wild Turkey is such a great couse! Even on April 6th the entire facility was up and running smoothly. The conditions were great. I've been wanting to start a membership with Crystal Springs. I may finally do it this year. I am an avid low handicap player but I have to budget myself. Hopefully I'll find a good deal so I play at Crystal Springs alot this year.
Cold and Windy March Round
Overall, Wild Turkey is a great course and fun layout. Today was a challenge. I could only count about 6 foursomes out in this 38-42 degree weather with wind bursts up to 35mph. Conditions were ok but obviously not like peak season. Speed was great - no one in front or behind. The value rating is because they charged $70 and the greens were extremely slow. Not that I expected better but if the price for the round was $49 - that would have been a good value.
Spring Training 2019
A nice day, the course a good challenge, conditions were fine considering it is March. The pace of play, slower. 4.75 hours for 18.
Staff was excellent from registration, to setting up our cart, on course staff and then assisting at the end of the round, friendly, professional and helpful.
Wet
Course was soaked. Wish the website had posted cart path only. Like the layout. Would play again after it dries out.
Cart path only again
Booked this round 3 days in advance, No word that it was cart path only for the last few days Including today. Pace of play was over 5 hours for a course that normally takes 3.75 hours.. Instead of roping off the wet areas they pull the cart path only rule. Additionally they let golf pro teachers with students in front of us at the turn,
Also, the usual starter, all he talks about is how he reprimands careless golfers for driving on the course, I must have heard the "I caught a guy doing donuts on the fairway a took his keys away (apparently leaving the golfer stranded) story at least 20 times. One day it was cart path only again and he actually acused us of driving on the course because we played the round too fast. Taking a break form this place for the remainder of the year.
Not worth the drive
Played here plenty of times in the past. Wasn’t expecting the condition the purse was in. I understand due to a lot of rain, some courses are struggling but to charge $87 for a cow pasture is rediculous. If they would have explained the course conditions before we went out then atleast we could have decided before we went out. Not coming back to this mess. Very disappointed.
Draconian
Way too difficult for average golfer. Many greens and fairways bordering on unfair. Very little bailouts what seems like a perfect shot ends up in hazards or worse-lost. Not for a casual resort player.
Cheap and I can tell why
This maybe the worst course I have ever played. Greens were slower then my carpet at home. The fairways plugged every driver I hit and the sand looked like a cart path. Really disappointed and shocked Crystal Springs puts their name anywhere near this course.
