Mountain Creek Resort
About Mountain Creek Resort
Mountain Creek Resort is a four-season destination in Vernon, N.J., just an hour outside of New York City. It features a waterpark; the 27-hole Great Gorge course, which was purchased in 2018; the Treescape Aerial Adventure Park, home to zip-lining, climbing obstacles and rope walks; and a Bike Park of 52 trails that is loaded with jumps and 1,000 feet of vertical drop. The course was part of the old Playboy Club in the 1970s and 1980s, attracting famous names such as Dean Martin and Bob Hope for a game. It’s a beautiful property with wonderful mountain views and elevation changes. Guests can stay in the Appalachian hotel or enjoy more space and privacy in a one- to three-bedroom townhome rental at Black Creek Sanctuary. Both accommodations offer outdoor pool and hot tub facilities.Facts

Beautiful Course
Layout is awesome. Course is beautiful. Last time I played it, it was still the playboy club.
Great value
Played the lake and rail today at great gorge…it’s been several years, but I will say that the layout is better than I remembered, and though it rained quite a bit yesterday, the course was in great shape..will definitely play again later this month, when fall arrives..great value!!!!!
Great course
With all the rain we've had up here in North Jersey, I think the course was in GREAT shape. I would recommend Great Gorge to any golfer regardless of ability. The views and conditions are always spectacular. One of my favorite courses in North Jersey.
Excellent condition
Course is beautiful and well maintained, only few spot water after day’s rain. Fairway and green in excellent shape.

Beautiful course
Course was fun and challenging. Tees, fairways and greens in excellent condition. Cart paths could use some improvements. Better signs needed to for directions
Overall good
Good conditions, enjoyable course layout. Pretty nice golf course.
good play
played quary / rail courses. Staff was very friendly. Course nicely cared for. golf carts have the bag covering and the snack cart came thru at least 5 times during our round. Course is somewhat challenging with narrow fairways and interesting views to the green. sadly, not enough golfers tended to their divots on the green. And no ranger, so myself and and 2 groups in front had to wait for 1 slow group. But hard to get too upset as this is a nice course. Sadly the old hotel is an eye sore and neglected parking lot is sad. Get past that, and great day of golf is ahead.
Great Course
This is a great layout with 3 nines, 27 holes. Alot of work has been done in the last 2 years and it shows. The Supt. and his crew have done a great job and the Greens are in excellent condition. If you have never played here, you are missing out on a good day of Golf.
GG golf
Never disappoints beautiful greens great shape fast big undulating greens and especially long tough tough course love it highly recommend enjoy don’t expect a best ever round not happening enjoy the scenery
What’s old is new again
I haven’t played this course in over ten years and was very surprised by how well maintained the course is today. Staff was very friendly and the views are great. Greens are very consistent and well maintained. I thoroughly enjoyed playing and will be back soon.
the pace of play was just really really slow. I think ebcuase carts were cart path only...which is annoying and silly. the conditions were fine and walking all over the place defeats the purpose of paying for a cart.
