Seaview, A Dolce Hotel

About Seaview, A Dolce Hotel
Seaview, A Dolce Hotel, was founded in 1914 as an exclusive country club. It has a long history of hosting professional golfers, presidents, rock stars and celebrities. In 1942, Sam Snead won the PGA Championship on a combination of holes of what is now Seaview's Pines and Bay courses. The Bay course, a regular host of the LPGA Tour, delivers the views beyond Reeds Bay to the Atlantic City Skyline. The hotel includes 34,500 square feet of meeting and event space, indoor and outdoor pools, three restaurants and a fitness center. The historic charm of the interior feels like a trip back in time.Facts

Seen better days
Unfortunately we were disappointed by the Pine course conditions. Fairways were nice. Greens were OK. Rough was unkempt and unmowed. Landscaping was poor as were some tee boxes. Disappointing for a resort that I’ve had respect for. Clearly the Pines course needs more attention. I expect more for a course that can be priced over $100 per person.
Nice course but
Sand traps need some work. Sand is hard and there are weeds growing in them. Layout is nice and can be a bit of a challenge. Accuracy is Key.
Would Definitely Return
Very much enjoyed the Pines course! Monday at 1pm- wasn’t pushed or held up at any point. Greens and fairways were in good condition. The rough was thick on most holes- someone said a mower was down & that’s the reason for the depth. Outside of losing a few balls that way, it was a great day.
If you can find your ball
I don’t normally like to leave reviews, but luckily, I only paid $52 to play on this abysmal course. The rough was almost 3 to 4 feet high and typically even one or two balls around is acceptable not 14. I swear I lost five balls in the fairway and I was playing with somebody and we still couldn’t find the ball so if you wanna play golf maybe go somewhere else if you wanna play let’s find a golf ball then go play there
Yes and No...
Greens and fairways were ok. The rough and sand traps poor. So, if you're on in regulation you should be ok. Work on the cartpaths is needed too. Generally, I'd say the course needs quite a bit of TLC! 🏌️♂️
Great Course
Traps were a little rough but everything else was fine
Poor Bunkers
The course was in good condition except for the bunkers that were weedy and needed some maintenance. Overall we enjoyed our round and will play it again when we are in the area
Poor business practices
We were scouting a course for a large event in the area. We had some rain checks to use to pay for the round. We were charged a different rate than the booking rate--a premium was added to the cost and our rain checks were discounted. As well, a woman named Jen questioned the authenticity of them!
The Bay course itself rests on its laurels. If the weather is nice, there are a couple of holes with nice views. Other than that, it is not the most architecturally interesting. Dining in the grill room after the round, the food was mediocre.
Jen's behavior really turned us off from the start, and nothing wowed us after that to compensate for her demeanor.
Shore Golf
Windy, in and out rain, cool which is shore golf at times. But, no bugs. Actually like pines course better. Great layout and well kept. Truly a challenging and pleasant course to play.
Great course, so-so conditions
The premier course at this location is the Bay. I played the Pine for a reduced rate so can't expect excellence. It's been a couple years since I played here and it appears that the conditions have deteriorated. The fairways are beat up in places and the greens are poorly maintained. I say this with the understanding that this is a public course in the middle of the peak season. However, it had been better before and compared to other public courses in the area that charge a similar rate, this was average at best.
There were also many good things. The food cart passed us 3 or 4 times. Better than usual. The golf carts and pace of play were excellent. We finished in under 4 hours.
Summer Treat
Classic layout with good mix of long & short par 4's. Only complaint is that 3 out of 4 par 3's were over 180 yards (playing closer to 200 yards each due to winds). Staff anticipates all of your needs in advance and offers directions and advice even before we had a chance to ask. No halfway house after 9 holes but cart girl made several passes during round. Beautiful views of Atlantic City skyline.
Enjoyable
Perfect weather, course in great condition. Shout out to maintenance staff, beverage cart girl and starter.
