Well run operation
I live in Raleigh and my friend lives in Charlotte. This resort provides two great tracks and we are grateful we can meet in the middle at Grandover every so often.
We knew the greens had just been top dressed that morning, so greens were slower than usual. I was surprised at the condition and lack of sand of a few bunkers. In fact a couple had no sand at all. But all in all the course was great and the staff even better. We will be back!
West Course
This is hands down my favorite course to play in the Triad area.
Always a great course and in good shape.
West course playing 9 holes is deceiving as it is not an 'out and back'
So if trying to do a quick 9 beware it takes a good 10 min cart ride to get back to clubhouse
Expensive Round for Cheap Conditions
This course was unbelievably poorly maintained for the cost of the round. I’ve played municipal courses kept in better condition. The tee boxes were not level and were mostly sand and chewed up grass, the fairways were full of weeds and ant hills, bunkers were full of rocks and pebbles, and the greens were inconsistent and overgrown. The pace of play was phenomenal, possibly because everyone else already knew not to play this course. The facility should be ashamed of charging their patrons the price for an above-average golf course and delivering a product that is barely comparable to a local pitch and putt. I will not return to this course.
Not worth the money.
Tee boxes and fairways in terrible shape. Greens were long and slow and felt like had to smash a 10 ft putt like a 30 ft lag putt to get it to the hole. Thus taking away all feel.
For half the money I can play a course in similar shape closer to home. Sad part $70 is winter rate and will go up closer to summer. Resort was beautiful and course not so much.
it has the resort vibes youd expect the course is well taken care of, staff very friendly even offered to let me play more holes to make up for slow pace of play which was not their fault ranger i spoke to was very friendly, greens rolled nice and were a bit firm from the recent colder months only downside was west cafe house was closed and they had no cart girl either but the course was good no complaints
East course okay could be great
I'm not going to be too critical because it is early in the season and at least you can play golf down here unlike Ohio at this time of year. I really wish they would warn you when the greens are being aerated. Ball was jumping all over the place hard to get a true score. Pace of play today was atrocious. Ended up skipping the last four holes as we had already been on the course for almost 5 hours
Bermuda greens are nice
Although it was raining and wet, the course is awesome and we enjoyed it!!!
Bunkers need attention
I played the east course on 2/14 & 2/17/25.
1 would never pay the normal rate to play either of the two Grandover courses. The price is not justified by the course conditions. Even with hot deal rates between $50 - $65 , there are other public golf courses that are kept in better shape and cost less..
Stoney Creek, Bryon Park & Forest Oaks are just a few examples.
More recently, on the East course, bunkers have red clay instead of sand.
