Grandover during Covid-19
I was expecting a better course but I was disappointed on the bunkers and around the greens.
Bad deal
This course is not in good shape and does deserve its price tag right. This is not my first time playing here, but it might be my last.
Objectively, no other way to put it. Greens are a mess with splotchy bare/dirt patches. Riddled with ball marks and crab grass patches making consistent putting impossible. Fairways are very beat up, missing grass, some major under repair spots. Rough around greens have not been maintained, with Random patches of weeds that look to have not been mowed in more than a week.
I will not be playing this course again. You can find a dozen plus courses within 30 minutes of here in substantially better condition for a 3rd of the price.
Not worth $78
Nice course, good layout bit crappy conditions. Not worth $78 on a Saturday afternoon.
Grand over West Course
Enjoyed the course it was very nice!! The course is very challenging I will play it again. Thank You
Grandover still Shines
I try to play here once or twice a year because it is a great value for a resort. Sometimes my wife will do a spa day while I play and we have even made it a weekend getaway in the past.
Course is in great shape and I highly recommend it.
Very nice golf course
I live outside Charlotte and a friend of mine lives outside Raleigh. This place is right in the middle and is a phenomenal golf course for the money. I have no idea what the regular rates are during normal times but the rates we paid for super reasonable for a golf course of this caliber. Play fast and had a great time
Grandover
I decided to treat myself today and I need to do it more often! The course was in great shape! The staff was awesome! I’ll definitely be back! Love this course
Alright, nothing mind-blowing
This is a cool course, and it’s in pretty good condition (2-3 greens with grass-less edges, and a couple of fairways with nearly bare patches, overall good though)
For being one of the most expensive course in area, I’m not sure I’d say it’s worth the price to regularly play though. You can find plenty courses in just as good of shape for $30-$40 less at primetime rates.
They also charge you to hit range balls on weekend mornings, which seems like a rather petty money grab after dropping $80 to play
Tough course to review
This is a bit of tough review for me because of some conflicting reasonings.
To start, if all you’re worried about is playing a nice course in great condition (apart from 2-3 greens with some rough/grass-less edges, but didn’t really affect play) then you will enjoy this track.
My reasoning for three stars instead of four apart from the few rough green edges may be a bit petty, but I struggle to justify being the most expensive course within a pretty wide area (or close to it) and still charging $6 to hit range balls in prime season on a weekend.
It’s not an issue of money as if you’re paying $78 to play a round of golf you can certainly afford another $6 to hit range balls, it’s more the principle of an already really expensive course (relative to the immediate area, of course) Trying to squeeze patrons out of a bit of extra money
Amazing course
Best course I have ever played on. Definitely worth the money.
East’s Extra Enjoyable
We really have a great time out there, and literally crave this course after each round, it keeps you wanting more, we’ve played it from all the tee locations, be back soon!
“Great Grand Over”
You may catch yourself day dreaming g after a round on either of the courses. As the title says it’s Great @ Grand Over, West greens were in excellent condition. Different from the ultra dwarf championship Bermuda greens I’m use to. However the putting surface seemed to be cropped & rolled smoothly. It’s difficult not to be thinking about the next round. The turf was literally fluffy and each shot was enjoyable. Play a round on each course would be recommended. Here’s to the next outing from East to west!!!
