Review
Do not play this course. Terribly slow pace of play, course was in terrible condition. Clubhouse needs a few hundred thousand dollars worth of paint, carpet, renovation, this is not worth $150 by any means. Don’t even have a practice tee.
Don’t play here!
Paid $150 green fees. They don’t even have a practice tee! two little green canvas tents with a bunch of cut up old dead golf balls that your hit off of plastic mats into a green canvas wall about 5 feet in front of you if you could believe that! That’s how you get ready to play at this place
Clubhouse is an absolute joke for a facility that charges $150 green fees. Needs paint, carpet, complete and total updating, just a mess.
Stood waiting shot after shot after shot over five holes while three women would not under any circumstances allow anybody to play through.
Finally gave up on 18, went around them and went to the next hole, there was a group in the fairway another group on the Teebox and another group waiting. Just gave up and went home. total waste of $150.
Beer Cart Girl
Being a server in the restaurant industry, my standards for service are pretty high. Parker, the beer cart girl ,is one of the friendliest, nicest and most amazing people I have ever met. If you are lucky enough to meet her you will see why I said what I meant. TIP HER WELL, SHE IS WORTH IT!!!!!
Gorgeous slow course
Waited an average of 10 to 15 minutes per hole. It is a gorgeous place, espectacular views but the pace of play was way too slow
Average Golf Course
Beautiful scenery. Course was very average as far as conditions. Carts were running up and down the fairways instead of 90 degrees. Layout was very good as each hole provided a different challenge. I paid half rate of about $90 including cart. This was in my opinion about right for what you got. Full rate of about $180 was much too high. Enjoyed the course but would not travel to play it again. We were paired with a member who was delightful to play with.
WARNING-someone tried to break into our car
While we were on the golf course someone ripped part of our door handle off our car and tried to break into i (verified by Honda dealership)t. We were just stopping in to play on our way to Pinehurst so we had luggage and other items in the back. We have tinted windows so someone really had to look hard to see what was in there. We were parked right out in the open; the front row very close to the pro shop.
A classic Donald Ross design
This is it extremely a nice course to play and the Bent grass fairways and greens were in excellent condition, despite quite a bit of local rain the day prior to our playing. The course from the Tips is only about 6100 yards long, however, the layout is quite challenging with some very interesting holes despite them not being particularly long. The Omni is a first rate resort and it’s certainly not cheap. For the serious player, the lack of a driving range is a serious point. I always hate to take the first tee without warming up for at least a half an hour if not longer. This is difficult given the lack of a driving range. Otherwise, a great course in A1 condition. Very friendly pro shop staff as well as cart attendants.
Asheville golf tour
This course was on my bucket list to play while visiting the Asheville area and I’m glad I did . Friendly staff, good course conditions, and beautiful scenery.
Always a nice day
Love the setting at Grove Park. It’s historic and I like the Donald Ross design of the course. Is it a short course and good for kids or spouses as well. A little bit pricey for a shorter course but a great setting for golf. Course showed a little wear and tear but I’m guessing that’s from the heat this summer.
Omni Grove Park inn golf course
The course wasn’t in great shape for a resort course and I was glad I didn’t pay full price to play. That being said, we enjoyed the round and it was cart path only due to recent rain.
Conditions not great because of recent rain.
The conditions of the course were not up to par due to recent heavy rains. Sand traps were washed out and full of water. Many muddy areas, so cart path only. I would like to play the course again under better conditions.
A Unique North Carolina Experience
A unique North Carolina experience. The staff was super helpful. Helped me celebrate a special birthday complete with a decorative golf cart! The course was in great shape, except for some maintenance going on. Challenging greens, and approach shots were also fun. A little disappointing the 17th was cut short..but the views of the mountains simply can’t be beat! Stayed at the hotel which made it an even better experience, I would definitely return…
