About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

Staff is excellent and Pro Shop is great. . BUT.. .THE COURSE CONDITIONS NEED SERIOUS IMPROVEMENT!.
Poorly run…
Course overall had a nice layout, but greens were inconsistent… and some needed to be completely redone. No beverage cart, restaurant and snack bar were both closed, and pro shop had a small cooler with a few drinks. If the course conditions were better it would have over-shadowed the lack of amenities, but unfortunately that was not the case. Big potential, but Sea Trail did not deliver.

Disappointed
Club house was very sad run down. No restaurant. No bar. Course was rough. Greens not mowed. Tees not mowed. Very disappointing.

Course looks like it’s being renovated.
Have been to this course in the past and prior to 2020 the course was quite good and priced reasonably. Club staff was excellent and club restaurant had a good selection of food. On our recent visit the pro shop had only the essentials and the restaurant looked like it had been closed down long ago.. The course while still enjoyable in its layout is in dire need of repairs. Staff was still excellent and very friendly. Round was priced very reasonably but the course was. difficult to enjoy because of the repairs needed to fairways, cart paths, and hazards.

Nice golf course
I like Sea Trails tracs. The no cart policy by the driving range and putting green is bad since they are not close to each other. If you usually use the range and hit more than a couple clubs you have too carry your bag quit a ways back and forth. Then the putting green is another walk in the opposite direction. Leave your self plenty of extra time if your like me and do both before a round. One thing they might consider is move the putting green next to the range and put the practice green where the putting green is now.
All in all a nice facility.
Vacation 2022 NMB
Sea Trail Byrd course was extremely dry and ground was very hard. Greens were cut long, very dry and extremely inconsistent in speed. Course layout was nice and very enjoyable, just needs water or rain to thicken, soften and green it up!

Bumpy greens
I have played the Jones course 6 or 8 times and it has always been in good shape. However, this past weekend the greens were really bumpy and it was hard to keep even 3-4 footers on line. I am highly surprised at these greens as most every other course I have played with Bermuda greens are in excellent shape.

Very friendly bag staff! They welcomed us women and really went out of their way to make sure we were good.
As a 14 handicap, the tee box choice to get the right yardage was not good. It was either really short (red) or a little long (gold). We played red since we did not know the course and it was very short!
The greens on the front were horrible, they looked like a green we used to have in my backyard! Very disappointed on the greens.

Good layout and playable
Overall in good shape. The greens were a little rough on the front due the recent spring maintenance. Greens were better on the back.
Will play it again in a few weeks.

Wouldn't recommend
The day we played the course the restaurant was closed and we couldn't eat lunch. The clubhouae closed at 2:30 pm. The beverage cart was on the course but we only saw it when we were on our last hole. There was no water coolers anywhere on the course. Very disappointing golf course.

Needs upgrades
Greens were in great shape. Fairways are pretty rough lots of hard oan spots. Bunkers pretty good. This course double tees, 5 1/2 hr round. Played with a couple of members who informed us owners not putting money back.into the course and it shows. No snack bar.
