About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

Blame Covid
Nice course overall, but needs improvement ,cart paths were a mess greens were a mess.We had a good time but that’s what I do.

An Average Option
With so many courses available in the Myrtle Beach area, this course would rate as average. The greens were quite "bumpy" and most of the tee boxes were thin on grass. Small food service area as well. Friendly staff and good pace of play. Not a bad course for what we paid, but many better quality courses in this area.

The Course was disappointing
I found the course very dry with bare spots in the fairways which i wouldn't expect for a fully irrigated golf course, the sand bunkers were not maintained; not raked and had numerous branches and pinecones in them. For this time of the year, I would have expected the greens to be in better condition compared to other courses in the area.
The attendant behind the counter was not able to change my greens fees to the player card I presented hence I was charged the full rate whereas they were able to at the Rees Jones course.

bumpy greens
the greens were very bumpy and slow and so it was not a fun course when you got to the green everything else was good. maybe in few weeks it will get better but right now stay away from sea trail

Nice layout, but conditions are not very good and with restaurant closed!
Our group has been coming to Sea Trail for many years and this was by far the worst experience we’ve had! Maples was in bad condition with greens that were eat up with Poa Annua., bumpy cart paths, and dirt for grass in the rough. To top it all off, the restaurant was closed and the pro shop was being run by a skeleton crew. Would not recommend.

Poor Greens

SAVE YOUR MONEY!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I've seen nicer dog tracks. Greens are patchy and lousy, fairways in terrible shape. The owner of all three courses is apparently some foreign guy who hasn't spent a dime on the courses. Whatever you read on other reviews is FALSE - stay away from these courses - PLEASE.
I had booked this and another Sea Trails course for the following week. I couldn't cancel those reservations fast enough

This course needs improvement
We should have paid $20 more and played a much better course. The price should be $30 to ride. The cart paths had many deep potholes that could easily be filled in. Many roots made it very bumpy. The main issue was the greens were very bumpy worse than courses that had just air rated their greens. Had to have a 2-putt rule due the various types of grass on the greens. If you were just off the fairway the grass was mowed to the dirt. Many places off the fairway had no grass, so you had to stay on the fairway to have grass. I have played many municipal courses in better shape for $20 and was felt that I had wasted my time and money at this course. We did love the pace of play and the cart crew. No one in front and no one pushing us. We played mid-morning.

Great value
Course was a great value. Nice to see the course enjoying an economic growth with the the development. Green were fair. Greens were fair, freeways were nice. Pace of play was great. Look forward to my next visit.

Several greens had been sanded making them less pleasant, this reduced rating from 5 to 4. The price was a little expensive given this as well
