About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

This course has a nice layout.
This was the first time I played this course. The layout was very nice and the greens were in good shape. The check in process took quite a while. There was some kind of confusion. To the point where there was a line almost out the door. Because of that I was rushed to the Teebox and didn’t get a chance to putt and get set for the round. But other than that I enjoyed the course and would definitely play it again.

Nice Course but Extremely Rude Staff
This was my first time playing here. The course was beautiful. Well kept and pretty challenging. Very scenic as well. The cart paths were very poor though. Sometimes I didn’t even know if I was on the cart path or not. The main takeaway I have from my game here is that the staff treated me terribly. I showed up 8 minutes before my tee time and the guy checking me in made me feel like I was in the wrong because I didn’t show up 20 minutes early. I asked him if that was a course rule and he said no. He then went to tell me that I was to be paired with another solo player but he already sent him assuming I wasn’t going to make it. Then he told me I inconvenienced him not coming earlier (again, I was 8 minutes early) so that he now had to get more golf carts out. He then gave me a rundown of the course rules but in a condescending tone. It put a terrible taste in my mouth and I wish I had my money back and an apology from the course. I will be avoiding playing here again and will steer all I know away as well. I hate I was treated like that because it was a great course aside from the cart paths.

Slow play
Played the front 9 at 730am in 1 1/2 hrs !! Making the turn we were told we had to let a 4 some go in front of us !!! So had we staid it would of been 3hrs on the back !!!!

Poor
The greens were horrible. I think they had a disease of some type. Very bumpy. Not from aeration. No bunkers were raked, compacted hard sand. Fairways ok.

Rough Greens
Played six courses in MB and conditions here were the worst. Some of the greens were unplayable and a decent amount of hard pan on the course. Layout was good…shotmakers course. Fix the greens and it’d be good

Sea Trail Maples
Good layout and pace of play. The downside is they club house and course has no food or beverages

Maintenance and upkeep seems to be secondary
Really like the layout. Unfortunately not in great shape. Greens bumpy, needs more seeding. Tee boxes were uneven and grass was not consistent height. Couid be so much better or may have been in the past.
