The Country Club of Whispering Pines
About The Country Club of Whispering Pines
The Country Club of Whispering Pines falls under the radar of most golfers traveling to Pinehurst. Its 36 holes by Ellis Maples are just minutes from the village. The longer Pines Course is an "inland links", while the River Course requires more accuracy. Guests can stay in condo suites or in a standard hotel-style room with access to a fitness center, tennis courts, outdoor pool and clubhouse with a restaurant and meeting facilities.Facts

Good bang for your buck
$23 for this was xmas comes early. Great track. Greens rolled well. Fairways in good shape. A lot of uphill blind shots
Pines
Generous fairways and firm greens. Champion Bermuda greens mean ball rollout on approach so take this into consideration when making club selection.
Beautiful course!
We've played here a few times and it's a great course! It would be even better if there were a food and beverage option after nine holes, since you don't come back by the clubhouse. Course is beautiful and the golf is challenging!
Overbooked, slow pace of play, poor service, staff doesn't care
Pace of play here was terrible. 1 hr/15 mins to complete 3 holes. No ranger. Called golf shop from course to see why play was so slow. They said that they would send someone out to check. Never heard back from them. Three groups on most holes. Finally told reason was that there was one slow group and they did not want to say anything to them because they only had a few holes left to play. The result 70+ other having a lousy time on a rather average golf course.
Their reason that one slow group was the issue is ridiculous since all the holes behing were now slow and congested so they had 40 slow groups as a result and the course would never clear out. Left after 3 h ours and 7 holes.
In the Sandhills there are a lot of options to play golf. Whispering Pines should be at the bottom of the list. No rain check or credit offered to come back.
Called Golf Now customer support and they were not helpful. Basically a waste of money for four tee times and poor service.
Nice but SLOW
Course was in good condition. Greens were in excellent condition. Pace of play - 5 hour round. Obviously they overbooked. Great value for the money. 49.00/round on golf now.
A little slow but enjoyable.
Tee boxes and fairways were average for the area but the greens were outstanding! Very slow round starting at around 1:30 but otherwise, a great experience.
First Game of 2017
My wife and I played on a hot afternoon. The Pines course was very busy due to school tournament. We found the River course to be in average conditions except for good greens. We played in about 3 hours, which was great. We even had time for a post game drink in the clubhouse, with a friendly server. All in all a good first game experience.
Great little course!
Played The PInes with my wife and had a great round. Nice layout with excellent greens. My favorite hole was #5. Made a boogie there but quite an adventure. Will definitely play again the next time we are in the area.
Fun course to play
Played the Creek course with my son in law. Had a tee time at 10:45 on a Sunday morning, and we finished in a little over three hours. Course is still a little brown, but plenty grass to hit off of. Tee boxes and greens very nice . Other than not knowing that you didn't come back to the clubhouse after nine, no complaints. The only reason I mentioned that, was the halfway house was not occupied, so we had to finish our round without stopping to get some lunch. Not that big a deal, but would have been nice to know.
Ok value, poor pace of play
I played the pines course and would definitely would not pay over 40 bucks for a round here. The course conditions were decent and pace of play was terrible. No rangers out to keep anything moving and it seems like tons of retired folks were just driving around looking for gaps to jump into. You know they aren't going to drive around forever. Eventually I'm sure they just forced their way onto the course and ruined pace of play.
Also, the back tees were marked way up. They must have taken a couple hundred yards off the course. I just used the back tee box anyway.
With so many other courses close by you can go ahead and skip this one.
Great shape
Course was in great shape and the greens are super nice!
COURSE AND VALUE WAS COMPATABLE
NO NEED TO WRITE GREAT REVIEWS ABOUT COURSES BECAUSE WHEN YOU DO THAT THEY RAISE THE TEE TIME PRICES! BOTTOM LINE.
