nice course
drove down from Columbia to stay ahead of the rain, first time playing the course, in really good condition. Staff was very friendly, but play was very slow. Had a foursome ahead of us that would not allow us to play through until hole #7. other than that really enjoyed the day and the course. would play it again
Great shape
Played this course is in great shape. Got behind a resort group of 16 so it played a little slow but an overall great time. Tees, fairways and greens were all nice and green and firm. Will be back!!!
Great value
We played Santee National on New Year's day, the drive up from Savannah was well worth it. The course was in pretty good condition, greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in great shape. I will definitely be making the trip up I-95 to play this course again.
Great Course---best in Santee Area
Great track and solid value. The greens were rolling very true...and fast. Rolling hills gave some nice elevation changes--not much, but some. Par 3's were varied and interesting. Like the course a lot.
Great Experience, worth the drive!
This was a round in the winter. The course conditions were excellent. The greens were in great condition, even though the color of the grass had browned with the winter conditions. The fairways had been over-seeded and were beautiful. The weather was awesome for a late December round( short sleeves and shorts!) . It was a great day!
Winter golf
This course was very nice. Played day after Christmas and the greens were under the weather and very difficult to putt on. Other than that I would recommend this course to all levels of golf.
Great experience
I'm from pa. And had a terrible start to golf vacation with bad hotel, the people at santee gave us a free round of golf and told us they would have a new hotel set up for us when the by the time out round was over, and they did! Now the course was fantastic, fast greens , great layout, the front 9 is more open and forgiving, the back 9 tighter and you need to be more precise, with your shots , and you need to be careful where you miss to and even where you hit the greens, lots of 3 putts there if your not precise, overall a great experience, so much so I played the course 3 times in 5 days !
great day of golf
Course was in really good shape. Pin placements were in really tricky parts of the green. Which allowed me to almost make a great comeback on my brother. But he beat me again. Can't wait to go back.
good course
Course and staff great great layout priced fairly.
As tee golf
Greens had been groomed (vertical sliced) recently so greens were "bumpy" but true and readable. Fairways were great and rough was cut evenly. Great deal for the price. Would definitely play there again. Really enjoyed our round.
good course, great value
tee boxes and fairways were great. were working on the greens but they were still playable and mostly putted true.(I knew about the greens ahead of time and it was reflected in the price)
Great Course
This course is beautiful! Great place to play! The course is very well kept and the greens were wonderful! Challenging course from the back tees but extremely fun to play and a great value for the money!
Beautiful maintained course.
First time playing this course. It was in great condition. Only flaw was that there were excessive grass clippings on fairways from being cut that morning. I believe though this was due to heavy rain from night prior. Also pace was a little slow due to a buddies tournment going on just in front of us. (about a dozen groups of 3 playing a Captains choice and taking their time.) Anyway a great course and value and worth the drive from Columbia. Little over a hour drive.
Great Course
This course is in great shape! Tee to green was gorgeous. Only a few areas under construction around two or three greens. The rest was amazing. Greens where moderately fast and rolled true. Drove an hour one way to play here and can't wait to do it again.
Great Place to Golf
This was my first time playing this course. The course was well maintained and the staff were very friendly. The drive from Charleston, SC was well worth the trip. I will visit this course again soon.
Fast greens and best course in the area.
Course is in excellent condition. Fairways and tee boxes in great shape. Greens in excellent shape and very fast. There are some blind shots on this course so first timers would be wise to pair up with a local or have a good GPS app available for yardages.
My ratings are based on comparable courses in the Santee area. I would highly recommend this course if you are staying in the Santee area. I travel with a group here once a year, play several courses in the area Santee National is always nexk and neck with Wyboo Golf Club in course conditions. Santee National gets the nod this year because of the much slower and grainer greens at Wyboo this week.
Great play and a good price
This was a Hot Deal so the value was great. Some of the greens had damage from the cold winter but we're ok and should get better with time. Come play and have a great time.
always a great choice
don't let the practice green scare you....the course was in it's usual good above average condition. Always worth the trip up or down to santee National. The only problem for me was the length of 2 par 3's. Having to get to a 200 yarder is not that easy for a guy in his 60's. .....but the challenge can be met.
best yet
by far the best course we played on our trip and it was our last day there. we were very impressed with the lady at the front counter with the service she gave us and the knowledge she had about our stay. great job
5+ hours of misery
We got there an hour before our tee time and no one was scheduled to tee off for 20 min yet they wouldn't let us tee off till our scheduled tee time. Meanwhile 5 groups including a fivesome teed off. So we had to wait on every shot on every hole. The starter was unfriendly and on a power trip or something. This was the most expensive of the 3 courses in town and was in the poorest condition. The greens were rough and sandy some with large patches of no grass. I will avoid this course on my next trip to Santee.
