Santee Review
The course layout was very good and provided a nice challenge for the average golfer. Greens were quite tricky and there were some damaged areas on a few greens to avoid. Limited water on the course. Staff (Jim) was very friendly and helpful. We did not use the snack bar but it looked quite nice.
Great layout
Drove an hr to play this course. First time playing it and was pleasantly surprised. Fairways were overseaded and were in good shape. Greens were soft and rolled true. Will definitely play again
Pretty Good
The fairways were nice and green for the winter and the greens were pretty smooth. The pace was a little slow and the lady in the clubhouse at the grill was super grumpy. But the course was in good conditions overall and i would play it again!
Worth the drive
45 miles away but a very easy drive since it's all highway. Great price nice fair course and nice staff. Course allows you to hit a stray shot that forces a punch out instead of teeing up another ball. Definitely recommend and will definitely make the trip again.
beautiful day on the course
It was a stopover in Santee , SC and turned into a great day of golf. The course was in great shape and the staff the best.
Nice Course but buggy
We loved the layout of the course. We only played 9 holes because the pace of play was slow and the bugs were terrible.
Nice layout, great conditions
First course I played on my 3 day trip. Course is in great shape from tees to greens Plenty of trouble to get into if you're not on your game. Lots of doglegs, course can be as long as you want it to be, with 4 sets of tees.Had a great time. Pace was a little slow at times, but didn't ruin the day. Would play again if the chance arises.
now the way home
i travel south for the winter and have always wanted to try santee finally got to play. easy on off of 95. enjoyable course with only 2 or 3 memorable holes. if you play from the whites and avg 225 off the tee lots of 150 yd shots and the day i played lots of carrys over traps. definitely have an accurate gps, some huge greens where to the middle does not mean alot. greens rolled fine and the fairways were in good shape. next time i will try another santee course
Excellent Course for the Value
EVERYTHING WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
WE PLAYED GOLF IN THE AREA FOR 7 STRAIGHT DAYS AND THIS WAS FAR THE BEST COURSE WE FOUND FOR A REASONABLE VALUE.
Great
My only issue was that our tee time was 9:06, we did not get to start until 10:10....19 regulars were there without a tee time and got to start before us....the pace of play was aweful
A great classic layout
A very nice course, I would have rated it higher, but the constant rains experienced in the Carolinas since October have taken their toll on a couple of holes particularly #11. I would like to play it again after it drys out. Very friendly staff and convenient to I-95
Course still has great character as always
1st time playing there in over a year, was in great shape, was delta with promptly when I checked in,started my round on time, course was in great shape from the to green.when traveling through I always try to play this course.
The course has a great layout
I really enjoyed playing the course again. It was not in top condition because of the excessive rains recently and the over seeding of rye grass. But, it was still an enjoyable round of golf. I can't wait to play it again under better circumstances. The layout is fair, but challenging...especially on the back nine. There are numerous bunkers that come into play on most holes.
Fine Course Suffering from Heavy Rains
Heavy rains in the area soaked this course restricting cart use to paths only. There were many wet spots on the fairways that affected play. The good news is that the moisture is causing the winter grass to take root well, and the fairways will soon be in great condition. This is a fine course with a nice variety of hole layouts. The greens are excellent and quite fast.
