Not what she used to be
Heathland is a great layout, but, unfortunately, Father Time seems to be taking its tole. It simply isn’t maintained in the manner that it used to be. Cart paths, bunkering, railroad ties, etc are very aged. Plus bunkers are not being maintained (raked). Almost fell off the bench at the bag drop because it was loose. Bag person said he reported it several months ago, but it still hasn’t been repaired. Not sure if there has been a change of ownership, whether COVID is still having a significant impact or whether management is lacking. I suppose the value is still decent as the greens fee also includes breakfast and lunch. Don’t like having to give this course a poor review, but, conditions just don’t warrant anything else.
Moorland under Repair
Played this course many times over the years. Played 7/26/22. At the time it wasn’t disclosed Moreland was under major repairs of bunkers on the course. Several holes they were completely dug out by heavy machines. Crews working on them as you
Play. I would avoid this Course and play the other Heathland or Parkland till renovations are completed. The club house and staff are otherwise great as usual.
Great course but absolutely terrible attitudes and customer service by the staff
Nice course
Beautiful course and nice layout. Greens were a little bumpy from what looked like a recent aeration.
Excellent!
They’re a little weird about the range and such, but to be fair, we should’ve arrived earlier with more time to figure out how to use all of that. We went off cold, and it probably impacted scores. The greens were pretty recently aerated, but they layout and overall experience was fantastic!
Beautiful course, 5 Hour round
Similar to other reviews, course is fantastic, paid premium dollars for first tee time. 1 hr 40 front, waited 45 at turn, super friendly starter, back was 3 hours. Greens perfect and food fantastic. Weather and score was spot on. Pace of play with double tee times. Let the first group play through if you upcharge for early tee times. Check in system unclear with plenty of staff. Investing in bunker replacement. Challenging course, target golf but you can score. Not for beginners. Love legends, a few minor changes and it becomes all 5’s. 728 am finished at 1230 pm. Starters will tell you this is 2 15 per 9.
Parkland
Everything about the course was generally good. However, did not appreciate not knowing the greens were aerated two days earlier. Had I known, I would not hve booked. Even if bribed with free breakfast, lunch and drinks. Wish I had played on a different day.
Heathland great course
Breakfast, clubhouse, lunch, etc all amenities are great. Course conditions were great. Punched greens still need time, wait a few more weeks. First tee time played front in 1 hr 40, double tee times defeat the point of paying the early tee time premium. Played the back in 2.50. Top notch course. Bag loading needs clarity and is confusing. Staff are friendly.
The staff was outstanding
On vacation, took my clubs, threw a dart on where to play and I was not disappointed! Great facility great course!
Great price and an excellent course
This was our first time playing this course and we loved playing it. It was difficult especially around the greens and bunkers but a good challenge. The staff was great and friendly. We also got a bargain for our round plus a free lunch and two drinks. Would definitely recommend coming back and playing this course
Good course
My daughter and I played here for first time. Starting was a little different as they didn’t load bags until time to head to tee. Fairways were a little tighter than what we are used to but in good shape. Greens were great. Rolled true and not too slow or fast. Ranger is around often in an attempt to keep slow groups moving. Would like to play some other courses on property. Would play again!
Beautiful facility. Very convenient to drive up, drop off bags, and then get checked in to play. Greens were slow and evidence of maintenance. Cart return and assistance with bags at the end of the round was lacking.
Great layout, not great condition
Definetly worth playing although for the money this time of year there are other courses in better condition.
OK track
It's a decent little course. I think it's a Tom Doak design. Has some quirky holes and a bit of weird routing but more fun than the average public courses around ATL where I'm from. Greens were bermuda and in good shape when I played (June 7, 2022) especially for a public course. I'm used to playing very firm fast bermuda greens so they were slow for my taste but probably fine for most players. They rolled well. Was glad to see they weren't recently aerated before I played.
Pace was great. I played on a Tuesday afternoon and went off at 3pm as a single and was the last "group" out before twilight groups start at 5. I played 18 holes in under 2 and a half hours (lol). Three groups let me through. Back 9 was almost completely empty.
This was my first time coming to Myrtle. Played here because I found out the day before the trip that I had to come out to Myrtle and there weren't many tee times available at other courses. Would I play it again if I came out here? Probably not. I think there's better courses in the area that I'd like to see. I'd consider trying out Heathland or Moorland though.
Customer service lacking
Great layout but staff needs some help. At least 50 people waiting to be told to go to the 1st Tee with at least 5 staff standing around. Even the range shuttle driver was just talking with co workers while 25 people walked across 2 parking lots to the staging area.
Also there is absolutely no drinking water on the course and even the water fountain didn't work. Every hour we would see the beverage cart but until then nothing. My advice is to bring your own water/gatorade as in the summer its hot.Xould be a world class place with simple customer service improvements.
Amazing
From bag drop off to lunch the experience is worth the price. Remember to arrive early to redeem breakfast, we had no clue and missed out. Course is amazing and ball placement is key
