Good course but overbooked.
Waited on first tee for two other groups to go off. Then waited every hole after that. Hard to play a good course when you can’t get into a good rhythm.
Very Slow Golf
The most incredibly slow round of golf I have ever played. Other than our putts on the greens our group waited on every single shot for the entire round. It took over five hours to play 18 holes and we barely finished before dark.
The old bait and switch
I booked a round on the Moorland course but when I got there was told I got switched to the Parkland one due to a college tournament and maintenance. It was a nice round but it wasn't what I paid for.
There's a reason they steer you towards this place
If you view a round with the guys as something where you all pound as many shots and brews as possible during the 5 to 6 hour round, then this is the place for you. Most of the course was full of hoots and hollars, people falling over trying to pick up their tee, lots of loud laughter and music blasting from carts and just a general feeling like you're at a frat party. And......based on how many people were like that, it's not a place if you don't like to party it up and enjoy slow play. The Legends likes to "rackem, stackem, and packem" to maximize their profits. We had concerns originally as we read reviews on here from others who complained about the slow play and poor atmosphere. We were assured by our golf package company that it's not like that. Imagine getting there and it's exactly like people described.......5 hours to play 14 holes before we ran out of sunlight (tee time was 1:30pm). We played the Heathland on a Monday with a 9am tee time and that still took close to 5 hours to play. Constantly waiting on a tee box is to be expected from this establishment.
Worth it
Course layout was fair and. challenging. Pace of play was 4-1/2 hours. The couple from Japan we were paired up with were friendly and good golfer’s.
Only two improvements needed are 1) a better bag drop organization (chaos is the only description I have - which was stressful and a bad first image, unwelcoming) and 2) in addition to no water on the course, there was also no beverage cart and no warning up front of this (could have used a drink on the front nine).
Still would recommend this course.
It took 5 hours to play a round. Wind may have caused some delay, but it seemed that the managers of the course simply could not get the groups ahead to move any faster than a 5-hour pace. Painful as I've seen for the pace of play in a long time. Management has to do something to get the rounds to 4.5 hours or less. The course remains a very nice golf course. I've never played this course in more than 4.5 hours and played it many times in the past.
Challenging greens
Very nice course. Greens were very good but location of cup makes them tougher. Would definitely play again.
