Moorland
Over 5 hours Course was a little rough around the edges. Nicer courses out there for the money
Worth Playing
The course is in great condition, from tee boxes to fairways, through the greens. Played 5 different courses this week and Parkland was in the best condition by far.
Awesome
We loved the Moreland so much, my group did a 18 hole replay. So for 36 holes I got see this course. Challenging, fun, excellent conditions. Look quality matters: we played a course just a few miles away and it was soupy… it really was un payable. So when we got to the Legends property we were very pleased. Both at breakfast and lunch, the wait staff was so friendly. The club house bathrooms are clean, the guys loading us up were cool. They were willing to drive you over to the practice range, went out their way to put more ice in our cooler for the replay. Everything at the Legends was easy breezy (except the golf).
Excellent
The staff was great and you couldn’t beat the lunch and drinks included in the fee. Great value for the money. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Many thanks!!!!
Nice but slow
Front 9 average pace. Back 9 painfully slow. I get booking front and back at the same, but maybe 2 to 4 less foresomes. 3 to 4 forsomes at the turn is painful. Lost momentum of game and back 9 became forced.
Enjoyable
Nice course. Many friends told me I should play it. Good value with 2 meals and 2 beers. Decent shape. Pace of play only complaint. Front 9 2hrs 10min. Back 9 took 2hrs 40min.
Worth the play
Challenging course. Not overly long but demands you keep it in the fairway. Greens held approach shots yet putts were true and fast. If you come to Myrtle Beach to play golf then make sure you have these courses on your short list.
Great course but too slow
Loved the buffet breakfast, sandwiches and drinks for lunch. Very very good layout, long and challenging. Just too slow…..5 hour round.
AWFUL SERVICE
We actually didn't even get to play because a bad storm came in. The service was so awful though that we didn't care - could not get away fast enough. The cart area was terrible - one guy took bags - well we took them to the staging area. Next, the check in staff basically ignored me - i am a woman - did that have something to do with it? Next, our friends arrived and had same experience. Our bags were still not on carts 7 minutes before teeing off so we put them on a cart ourselves and got yelled at. A large group was going off BEHIND us but the limited cart staff helped them. We were then told going off the back...was it because 2 women were playing? Anyway, as soon as we got to #10, the heavens opened up -- we went in and got rain checks. We will be playing a sister course - these guys do not deserver out attention. Talked to other golf courses about this awful experience and they told us that they had heard same and worse! Beware!!!
Indifferent staff
I can’t really rate the course as we were rained out. I can say that the staff was awful. Our bags were not even put on carts until 7 minutes before tee time while the group after us was set up first. This made no sense. Aas we were there 30 minutes before that other group. The bag staff was super unfriendly and gruff. The pro shop was not much better. More concerned with chatting amongst themselves vs helping players. Course looked nice but the people did not act like they cared about players at all. Have a rain check and will use it at a different location. The poor staff gives an awful first impression.
Pretty but tough course
We played Heathland after 4 inches of rain the day before. Despite the rains the course was in very good condition. Tee boxes and greens were in great shape. Golf included breakfast and lunch. Great deal. I would recommend this course.
Course was great conditions
Pace of play was only slow due to full tee sheet for a private outing in the morning. We played in afternoon and took our time, enjoyed the course, but we didn’t have to rush due to no one behind us. Could re hit a couple putts we should have made…made it enjoyable.
Great Course
Played on a Wednesday. Course is in great shape. I have Myrtle Beach Passport card. Not sure what they charge for locals.
Course and greeens were in great shape and I'll be playing again. Legends gets a lot of play and other courses should follow their lead when it comes to course maintenance.
