Table Rock Resort
About Table Rock Resort
The Table Rock Resort is different from most of South Carolina's golf resorts in that it resides in a mountainous setting, not a marshy or oceanfront landscape. It sits in a northwest corner of the state at the base of Pinnacle Mountain, sprawling across 500 acres. Table Rock features a natural waterfall, an 18-hole course called The Rock and an onsite snack bar. Guests who stay in the resort's two-bedroom, two-bathroom condos are allowed free golf.Facts

The ROCK
The Teebox ,the cart paths ,the Fairways OK but the greens are in poor condition !
The course had great features
The greens were nothing but dirt and crabgrass
Needs major repairs to greens and bunkers
Owners have spent no money recently. seem to be destroying what was once a good course to play.
Please don't even waste your time. Seriously
Wow. Where do I start. Walking in the door even before getting the cart, staff was awful. Not even a smile on the guy's face to say the least. Got the cart which was extremely outdated and the strap on the bag holder wouldn't hold the bag up at all. Fell off 3 times before 12 holes were completed. Putting green was terrible. Hadn't been treated or watered in months it seemed. Fairways were like thick rough at other courses. Greens had more weeds and sand than grass. Absolutely terrible. Every single bunker had grass growing in them. We only played 12 holes and left. Had I not prepaid for this course I would have left sooner. Worst course I've ever played. Course has extreme potential but for now, I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone. Please dont waste your time at all. There are plenty of other courses in the area for the same price that are exponentially better.
Abhorred and Disappointed
I did not expect the conditions that we were thrown into. The greens were horrendous. It appears they hadn't been cut in weeks at minimum. One even had an abundance of mole hills.. The fairways were what I would consider rough on any other course - so you can imagine the rough itself. I have very little to say about this purse other than the layout has much potential, which only makes me sad thinking about how the management has let it go so far down.
Nice layout BUT...
LOVED the course layout but the conditions were disappointing. Tee boxes rough and greens terrible. Maybe 2 decent greens on entire course that I seriously tried to putt. Fairways nice, so approach shots were enjoyable. Now, if ownership puts in a few bucks, this place would be awesome. May be one of the best overall layouts I have played. Fix the problems and I would go back in a heartbeat.
Worse course I've played on in south Carolina
There was so many patches of weedstate on the greens you would be better off using a pitching wedge instead of a putter, and for $40 a round you think they had some weed killer. The golf carts were broken and the strap to hold you bag on did not work and my buddies clubs fell off and got scratched up. I was very disappointed in the course.
The Rock
I think ownership has just changed, again, so work in progress. Some greens spotty and most all with "crows feet" but seemed to have been rolled and putts stayed fairly true. Great Golf now deal but would not pay full price other than for convience but LOVE the Coyrse layout and will play again!
Need work
Some holes were in great condition. Others not so much.
NIce layout
Fist off, it was a very nice day and a great drive to the course. The gentleman in the Golf shop was nice and helpful.. It was slow when I was there, so could take my time and enjoy the scenery. But the course was not in good shape at all. The tee boxes were ok, the fairways were fair at best, and the greens left a lot to be desired. I found out that there was an owner change after a bankruptcy, and will take a while to get it back in shape. I'm hoping so, it is a nice, scenic course.
Save your money
Played on a weekend and was looking for a good course I hadn't played in a while. I was extremely disappointed in the condition of the course. Fairways were pretty rough and the greens were like putting on sand. This used to be a great course but it's gone to waste. Save your money and play elsewhere.
No water
Hot day and they don't allow coolers and there wasn't a single water colter on the course.
The Rock and or Bear Valley
Course was in poor condition. Fairways hadn't been mowed in a while and the greens have bare spots and SLOW! Not at all what I was expecting. The course layout is nice but needs to be kept up. Very disappointed.
greens not cut
after finishing round i ask why greens were like fairways was told mower was broke.should of stayed home.
Disappointed
The worst shape I have seen this course in for a long time - I have played here 100s of time for many year,
Will not play again for awhile, sand trap terrible - greens even worse
Won't play here again until things change.
My group has played here for at least 25 years back when it was called Table Rock Resort. We have noticed that in the past year or so, the course has started to really go downhill. We played today, but it will be our last. The carts had brakes, but no parking brake. My bag kept falling out of the holder. When we made the turn, we got a different cart. It worked well. The greens have so much sand covering the ant tunnels that you cannot putt on them. Pro shop worker was rude to us when we pointed this out.
There are other courses closer that are in much better shape. Play them instead.
Good course for the price
Course was ok for the money. Fairways and collars were normal grass that you would find in a non-manicured yard at someone house. Nothing really defining about the approaches to the greens either.
Not like any other courses I have played. If somebody were to buy this course and fix it up it would be a great course nestled in some back drop of the beautiful foothills.
Sad part about it was that a house along one of the fairways had greener and prettier grass than what was on the course.
Good value for the money!
I normally play at a high end course in the area but they were closed due to all the flooding we had. We called to make sure this course was open and then booked online. They were in the process of punching the greens so we started on the back 9 and finished on the front. They are seriously working on the quality of their greens and fairways which needs it to compare to the better courses in the area.
Still I would come back once the greens grow back in as a place to fine tune my game and keep the muscles moving!
GREAT VIEWS!!!!
what a View!
beautiful, challenging place to play in the foothills of pickens county, but do carry some bug spray, you will be in the country!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
The course is in terrible shape, but worst of all is the staff. Hint to the owners: if you want this course to survive, get rid of EVERYONE that works there, especially the golf pro. The pro is incredibly rude for no reason and acts like I was doing him a favor by playing at his horrible course. I couldn't find the bartender (who was dressed in a manner I have never before seen from a bartender at a golf course, and not in a good way) for a long time because she was too busy having a cigarette to take my order. AND THEN, when I wanted to pay for my food and go, she was sitting on the porch in plain sight with a cigarette again refusing to help me. I'm honestly appalled at the severe lack of customer service at this course. WILL NEVER RETURN.
Maybe the bartender was having a cigarette because of the golf pro’s attitude? Or maybe the bartender was way past due on her car payment due to lack of business the golf course received and was on the phone with her car loan company begging them not to repo her car when she had school-age children.
Worst course I have played in years. Cart have no brakes. And owner attitude sucks. Not very happy with the owners attitude at all. Greens are terrible. Course has ran down bad. I agree with Pickens country club(Great course to play)
