About Spruce Peak
Spruce Peak is Stowe's only slopeside destination, where you can ski and golf just steps from luxurious accommodations at the Lodge at Spruce Peak or The Penthouses. Golfers will love the contrast between playing the Mountain Course at Spruce Peak with the more classical appeal of Stowe Country Club in the Stowe Village. Summer adventures for families include ziplining, a ropes course, gondola rides, camps, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and more. Life at the resort provides pampering with a spa and excellent food.Facts

Nicest Course I've ever played
I've played some pretty nice courses, but the mountain club is hands down the best course I've ever played. The views are unreal. The course is in perfect condition. The staff is super friendly. Love it here.
Perfection in every way
Well this was a real treat. Played recently with the Delaney group for our final 36 holes of a Ryder Cup style golf tournament for the “Stowe Stein”. It took me until hole 6 to stop obsessing over the views and beauty of the course and focus back in on the tournament. The first tee in the AM with water to your right over looking fog rolling off the mountains is as pristine as golf gets. The course can be very challenging on many ways including tight fairways, hazard carries off the tee (back 9 especially for both of those) and fast greens. That being said the course plays perfectly and fair. The greens rolled smooth and were soft enough to hold iron shots despite their speed. The sand traps were top notch, tee boxes perfectly maintained, and the entire experience was excellent. While team USA did not come up with the “Stowe Stein” victory, I hope to return next year to get revenge in the name of America! Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff for welcoming us and we cannot wait to return in 2019!
Unique Set up - Fun Course
This course features more par 5s and par 3s than you typically see on a course which, in my opinion, makes it more fun and somewhat of a unique experience. You don't have to be extremely accurate off the tee but the greens can be a bit unforgiving - do your best to leave your ball under the hole. All around it is a great course and I would definitely recommend it to a friend!
Pristine Course with beautiful Views
Love this course, it has some of the best views and conditions of any golf course in the world. Having one accurate 210+ yard club in your bag will make the back nine (and the whole course in general) much easier. Overall one of the best courses I've ever played!
Great Course
Pro shop staff was very friendly. I was out in the first tee time so pace of play was not an issue. Course was in excellent condition. Greens were very quick and undulating which made putting a little difficult. Fairways were generous. Great practice range. Slightly pricey but its a resort course so its expected. I would definitely play here again.
Slow play
For the amount of money charged we should have had a better playing experience. We waited on nearly every shot and it took us 4 hours and 55 minutes to play. We never saw a ranger on the course to help move things along or explain why the pace was so poor. We will not be going back
Challenging
Overall, an excellent mountain course. Would recommend playing with someone who is familiar with it, when playing for the first time.
High Priced
This course is way over priced. At $125 per person, they could fix the cart paths.
Great conditions
Course was immaculate! Greens were fast and true. Fairways lush. An absolute pleasure.
Gorgeous Vermont Golf
Lucky enough to enjoy a round this morning at Stowe Country Club and loved every second of it. Gorgeous VT mountain views, excellent conditions throughout the course, friendly staff, and great food/beer at the restaurant. Highly recommend this course to anyone thinking about heading to the Northern, VT area. Check out the tee-box view on #3!
BEST IN STATE
I live 2 hours away and make it a MUST to play this course twice a year. You will NOT play another course like it. From the 1st tee until the 18th green you are in for a treat.
You are treated like you should be at a 5 star resort. They have bottled water and apples on 2 holes. Pace of play is always great. Only downfall is you must stay at the resort in order to play Course.
If you ever get the chance, Stowe mountain is a must play!
New favorite course
Played this course last week with a group of buddies and had more fun than I've ever had playing golf (despite my score). From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty, and the course gets better the higher you climb.
Staff: Golf staff couldn't have been nicer. Knew the course so well, treated us like we were regulars, and made sure we stocked with water when we started and passed through on the way to 10. The bar staff was new so it was a bit slow but very friendly and attentive.
Conditions: The course was just in pristine condition. Wonderfully green, incredible both to look at and play on. The views alone are worth the round. When we got to the top of the 1st green and looked back to see our 2nd foursome way below us on the tee box we knew we were in for a treat. The front nine climbs and then descends around a beautiful lake, while the back just seems to climb forever until you can see for miles.
Course: What a course. The holes played short and demand accuracy, as a long drive will often put you in danger. For the most part you can use mid or short irons, and then hope (pray) for a good roll down the fairway. The greens played straighter than their counterparts at Stowe Country Club, but could be just as fast. Prepare to lose some balls.
What drought? This course so well maintained
Played Stowe Country Club last week with six buddies as part of the 36 Holes of Stowe package (paired with 18 at Stowe Mountain Club). We had a phenomenal time.
First the staff: Couldn't have been nicer. We got caught up by a "rolling roadblock" (thanks Vermont!) so were cutting it close on our tee time, but they welcomed us without a care and even let us hit a quick bucket to work the roadtrip kinks out before getting us off the first tee.
Conditions: You would never know New England has a drought based on this course. It was incredibly green and beautiful. The rough was challenging but not impossible (luckily for me), and the greens were in tremendous shape.
Course: Much longer than its sister course on the mountain, but a bit more forgiving on the approach. The greens, however, were extremely challenging for us. They were fast with tons of movement, and had quite the impact on our scores.
Clubhouse: Beautiful bar and porch. We didn't stay long after our round because we wanted to check into our house, but could have easily spent the afternoon watching other foursomes finish up.
Beautiful and Challenging
This course may be short in length but is very long on scenery. Nestled in the hills surrounding Stowe's ski trails, the mountain course offers hole after hole of absolutely stunning views. Put the driver away for many of the 4s and 5s as what seems to be a perfect drive gets lost well beyond the green. The greens were fast and fun. Strong recommendation to play if you're in the area.
Very fun course
Great layout, and forgiving enough for even the casual player. The staff treats every guest like they are a member. Look forward to returning again and again.
Favorite course ever!
An absolute spectacular experience. Amazing layout, with even more amazing views. A definite fun and challenging course. IF you check your ego and listen to the yardage book advice and hit the recommended tee shot, even a casual golfer can have a great experience here.
Golf Trip
This is the first time I have played this course and would definitely return there for another round or two. if you are looking for a challenging course with great views this would be a great choice.
Golf weekend
This is my third time attending a golf weekend at Stowe Country Club . The course was in excellent condition, the staff was overly accommodating and the pace of play allowed me to play comfortably. If you are looking for a course for a large group this is a good one.
..
A group of us have been going for about 7 years now and Josh and the staff make you feel like a member even if you are not. Course is always in great shape. Awesome views, challenging par 3's and make able par 5's. You can't beat the boxed lunch when playing 36 in a day. Looking forward to next years trip already.
Always a Winner
We've been doing a golf vaca guys weekend up here for over 9 years. We've never had a bad experience. The staff is awesome. the practice facility is great. Pro shop has everything. closest to the pin, boxed lunches at the turn, all you can play, dinner on the last night at the clubhouse. We've been treated right every time. The course is very well kept, from tee through every green. A couple par 5s that could be reachable, a couple that you shouldn't try, but might anyway. Fun, and challenging.
Mr. Garrity, Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry your experience was less than you had hoped. We strive to create an excellent playing experience for all of our guests.
