SPECTACULAR
Our golf group was fortunate enough to be able to play 36 holes on the Stowe Mountain Course this past week and it was amazing. The views were absolutely gorgeous. The greens were PGA like as the pro said that they were running at an 11 on the meter. We got hit with some heavy rain right before we teed off so it delayed our start. But once the rain moved on, the course was still in great playable conditions. No puddles or water collection anywhere. This course was designed perfectly and drained very nicely. The course is definitely difficult but the views are so worth any lost balls you fall victim to. We played the Blue Tees and that was a great challenge for our outing as we have some avid golfers. But we also had some casual golfers play the white tees and that was a great move because the decrease in distance really made their rounds more enjoyable. Great course that I would play again and again and again. No tipping allowed though and that sort of hurt because the staff treated us so well that we would have liked to show our appreciation. But overall, you're crazy not to try this place if you ever have the opportunity to.
Views with a Challenge
An amazing setting for a golf course. The views and conditions are on an elite level. It is very challenging with narrow fairways, blind shots and fast greens.
Be sure to read the Yardage Book for each hole (provided free by the course).
The staff on the course is very professional and accommodating.
Weekend Getaway
I have been going to Stowe Country Club on an annual weekend getaway with a group of 16 for the past 5+ years. Our group has a range of handicaps between 5 to 20+ and all of us enjoy the layout and challenge of the course. It isn't target golf and it isn't easy.
Since we have been playing at Stowe, the course has always is great condition. With the lack of rain in the Northeast, I expected to see it affect the course this year but it was in great shape.
Our contact, Josh and the whole staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. There are spectacular views and the locals/members are kind as well.
Stowe Country Club Does It Again
My friends and I have scheduled our annual golf trip at Stowe Country Club for many years now and once again, they outdid themselves. Each year just seems to get better and better. Josh Nichols put the attention into every detail to make sure the trip is a success. From the boxed lunches at the turn during the day, to the contests he organizes for the group on each of the rounds. Josh provides the white glove treatment every time we come. All this and we get to play one of the nicest courses around. The course conditions are fantastic and the greens are amazing. If you are organizing a trip with your friends and want to make a good decision then give Josh a call and you will not be sorry. He will take care of everything for you and you will look like a hero to your friends even though you didn't do much. We just came back a day ago and we are already talking about next year.
Stowe Mountain Club
One of the better courses I've played. In excellent shape from tee to green. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Spectacular views from every tee box. Challenging, but if played from the correct set of tees, it will be a golfing experience you will not forget.
Stowe Country Club
Excellent course. Greens are fast, but true. Friendly staff, nice practice area. Enjoyable outing.
Great Opportunity!!!!!
Very friendly staff - they work hard and do a great job. The course was in great shape and was very challenging. Good food at the bar. Best place I have played in a long time.
Great Course
Had a great day. Excellent practice facilities for hitting, chipping and putting. Course was in really good shape. Greens were fast. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
best value in Stowe including ALL courses
for $115 you get a bucket of range balls or more if you ask,,, a cart also you can play another round if you want to,,, a great range driving area a great golf course and friendly locals.
A nice restaurant and bar at the end of your game.
For a resort area this is an amazing golf day out..
over priced
see tips as well as for $250 you get 6 prov1's golf cart course book that two of the wholes have no relationship's to.... because of course changes all the greens had been cored and one of the fairways had workers and machinery on it, so it was unplayable,,, the worst thing for me was that all the new carts had beeb cleaned so well BUT, Amourall was on the steering wheels and you could not get a grip on your clubs and it ruined the whole round, they changed my cart for another one which had the same problem only less slippery.
Never ever again!
best course in area
well maintained course, great length and condition
