Daily Video Tips

Debbie,
Meant to say I am a righty golfer, when I do this drill the ball tends to hook and go left. Any suggestions to correct
Debbie when I do thos drill the ball has tendency to go right and hook any suggestions
Debbie: I'm having a terrible time with my 6-8 irons; I'm not sure what we're trying to do with this drill; am I leaning the shaft forward, as we're hitting the ball?
Well i don’t specifically know if you need this feel to hit the ball better unfortunately. This is an image to yes, better contact bc you will essentially be de lofting the clubhead if the image of the top dot hits the ball. It wld have to be covering it. As opposed to hitting up and not making contact with the center of the face. So yes the shaft will be leaning forward. But instead of pushing your hands and arms there artificially which can cause really bad contact, the image is to promote that without shoving your hands too far forward and causing more issues.
Great tip
Thanks for watching.
Debbie; I have wondered for a long time if low handicappers/ pros deloft their irons regularly by the amount of shaft lean on impact. is this a common practice?
Yes they can run from 10-14 degreesnofbshfat lean and for many or most stock iron. Shots are delofting the clubhead at impact. Now certain body motions have to happen to help this move, and the clubface and where it is traveling from also contribute immensely, but, this visual at least gets the ball rolling so to speak.
Shaft lean
Thanks Debbie will apply this drill next time I'm practicing!
Cool
Great drill Debbie, thanks!
That's brilliant. Something so simple that leads to other more complicated address positions - shaft lean, weight forward, left arm closed. All that can be done by just using this drill. Thanks!
Thank you! Hope it helps. And thanks for watching GPass
Great tip!
No thank you!
Swing and sway and lifting my laft (leading) foot as I come through the ball is my nemesis! I will try this swing thought and stay inside the phone booth. BTW does anyone under the age of 35 even know what a phone booth is?
Great visual and swing thought for striking irons pure. Great share.
Thanks. Hope it helps.
