Thanks Chris, I can see how a prior bad hole will make you forget the right fundamentals of this shot.
So, you did not get on the green as soon as possible like I have heard sometimes....I too like to carry ball closer to hole on chips....BUT....which is it??? There seemed to be nothing to go over on this training video??
Recently changed my approach to these shots, seeing too much room for error by catching the leading edge or getting fat trying to manufacture the right tempo for the distance. I am using my green side chipping technique with my 52 from 30-70 yards out as long as I have an open path to the green. I am pretty much doing what this guy is teaching from 70-100 out and then at 100 thats a full swing 60 for me- out of the danger zone lol.
Great tip. I really struggle with this distance. I have use a 9 iron for this type of shot because it gets me a better role out and control. Is this a good approach or should I try a different club?
Can you describe the right ball position for a 5 iron versus a 7 iron in the stance?
Hi Chris, what wedge would you recommend hitting for the shot you hit here, 40 to 60 yards?
