Great stuff, thank you!
Thanks for watching Brant!
How do you hit a flop shot over a bunker (short sided) that is in Bermuda rough while the ball is not totally sunk down?
I've been in that situation before, and here’s what works for me: Start by floating the clubhead and setting up about half an inch below the ball at the address. With the right swing, you can still apply the same techniques you’ve learned here. A shorter backswing (for accuracy) combined with an accelerated follow-through is key.
If you're worried about completely going under the ball, try addressing it with the club toe slightly down and positioning the ball closer to your lead foot. Shift more weight onto your lead side as well. This setup naturally forces you to catch the long side of the clubface, giving you a higher chip to clear the bunker.
For more backspin—useful when you want the ball to stop closer to the bunker—shorten your backswing and increase the speed and length of your follow-through. This shot plays like a cut, so you'll need to account for the ball spinning to the right. If the pin is further away and you need more rollout, you can adjust for a draw instead, creating a right-to-left spin. This works well on slopes running downhill to the right.
Think of it as a low flop. With a steeper swing path, you can add backspin for a "kicker" effect, similar to shots many pros, including Tiger Woods, use to handle compact lies. It’s not for everyone, but it’s worth a try!
Great tip here Aimee!
Thanks Matthew!
Your website is a terrible experience, everything is lagging, and going between videos is buggy hopefully you all can fix that.
thank you good tip
Thanks for watching! I hope this helps.
She definitely Aimee-fied it, thank you!
Alot of good tips: open face about 1 o'clock to 1:30 / more loft to your wedge. Big swing & choke down for club control.
So glad to hear that you're Aimeefied! :) Thank you!
I definitely need to use this drill.
I hope it helps! :) Thanks.
good - i am getting around, but not getting thru, timing😩
Timing is important! Perhaps check the sync between your hands to your body motion. Best of luck!
Ty for the tip
Thanks for watching!!
In a future video I’d like your view of the backswing and rotation. Specifically how much to bend Left knee to assist rotation and help keep the head from swaying back and forth.
