Get the Ball Rolling ASAP
Loft isn’t always your friend. Blair O’Neal explains how getting chips rolling as soon as possible will reduce margin of error and lower your score.

Blair,
Thank you for your tip and the explanation of why it works (shorter swing, less room for error than when we tend to use one of our wedges). I started doing what you explained after watching Golfpass, when Gary Player explained the same thing. Since using lower-lofted clubs, my feel and touch have gotten better, and I'm leaving the ball much closer to the pin and getting many more one-putts and pars.
Do you always choke up at the base of the grip for these shots?
Thanks Amy. I always enjoy your drills. They have helped me.
thank you good advice
thanks, playing smart like this, is the only way i will be able to lower my score.
There is something wrong with your site. Every video I play pauses every 4-5 seconds, Before you start in on my internet connection, I get over 300 meg download speeds. Videos normally work at 30 meg.
Interesting I did a similar practice the other day, but I added the hybrid. Great tip!
Do you grip the clubs differently?
