Thanks Cindy, great tip. What distance can this be used for? Would have to be a higher lofted club, so I assume only short shots around the green, but curious if there is an application for a longer shot option.
Do you need to open up your stance commensurate with how much your club face is open? (E.g. club face open 10 degrees, therefore stance open 10 degrees?). Thanks

Cindy, If you're going to open the face of the club, could you just use a 60* wedge (or greater) instead?

what type of lie would require this? obviously buried in rough, but how does the club coming in from the top contact the ball better than coming in from behind?
I learned a shot like this from the guy who fitted me and my boss for Edel wedges. His name escapes me right now.. My boss, Leith Anderson, was a top 100 clubfitter.
