I am so glad I found this video. For the past three days I've been having issues with shanking. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the shanks came back. It was very demoralizing! Turned out I was initially doing two of the three things you recommended. Today I added setting the ball up at the toe of the club face, and I didn't shank it once! Thank you so much Martin!! You are a lifesaver!!
what could be causing me to shank my short chips and pitches?
Thank you so much for that Martin. I have been wondering if the shank was just me. And I think I have been doing that and it's horrible when it happens. Here I am pitching or chipping for a lead up to a nice putt putt and the ball goes awry. And I always wondered what happened. I thought maybe the face of my wedge was way open, but the heel sounds more logical. I will certainly practice that more and more. You know, I never do that with my other irons, it's just when I get to my wedge shots. Thanks again
