This shot as shown is more of a pitch instead of a chip. The technique shown is more aligned with pitching ( more air time than roll out) than chipping ( more roll out than air time). Calling this a chip shot confuses those who don't know the difference as far as the different techniques used for the 2 types of shots.....
This technique was taught to me (and many others?) for a pitch shot and a chip shot when closer to the green was more precise like a putting motion that keeps the lower body quiet.
Excellent tip. I play on rock hard fairways with extremely tight lies. What do you suggest ?
Getting the rotational sequence correct is huge for me. Where left shoulder points down toward ball on takeaway and right shoulder points down through impact produced my best ball striking round yesterday in 2 months. Also easier on knees and body.
