Lake Land Village Golf Course - Generation II & III Course
About
While LakeLand Village is known for its PGA-level, 27-hole course, it is more than just a golf facility. Situated just 45 minutes west of Tacoma, the community surrounds Anderson Lake, offering three beaches with swimming areas and stunning views of Mt. Rainier to the south. It's a great option for family retreats or just a challenging round of golf. The course is divided into three nines known as Generation I, II, and II that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Gen II and III golf course is arguably the most challenging combination. Strategically placed bunkers frame the undulating greens and the narrow fairways demand accuracy. Water hazards and out-of-bounds come into play throughout as well. The nines vary in level of difficulty, providing options for players of all skill levels.

Golfer Reviews
A great golf challenge
I always get confused with their “generation 1 2 3 but this time the pro. Shop person explained it to us. Great corses, great staff. Course was in great shape. Will go back.
loved lake land
beautiful course.
I am a beginner and not a great golfer. the front 9 was very challenging for me. The Back nine had shorter fairways which works better for the beginner swinger.
Marshall NEEDED
The course really needs a Marshall to monitor pace of play. Our tee time was 10:50 and we were right on time. 4 of us were behind 4 women who were behind 4 men. The ladies had to wait 10 minutes on their 3rd shot which meant we had to wait for our Second. It went slower from there. Almost 3 hours for the front nine. Great course. But that sucked. The ladies plaid thru on about 5 and we finally got to play through on 10.
Great community course, worth the drive
Lakeland Village is one of those courses that's a bit away from the spotlight. It's a community course meaning it's entirely lined with homes, many of the retired community. This shouldn't put you off from playing here however, the course is in excellent shape most of the year. Greens are always fantastic and the staff during peak season is great.
The course itself is 27 holes with the Ranch course being the main 18, formerly known as Generation 3 & 2 (1-9 and 10-18 respectively). The course played from the whites provide enough challenge for even seasoned players while being fair enough to allow beginners to enjoy their time on. The best part of Lakeland is the abundance of tee times available, it's never overly crowded unless they have an event and most often than not you can go about your own pace.
Generation 1 I believe is the oldest 9, it is very quirky and does not play like the Ranch course - if you have time to play it, get on and see how you play. The layout in itself provides amusement.
The driving range hits into the lake, I don't know of any other courses in the state that does this. Get a small bucket before your round to give it a try. The pro shop and restaurant is small but very efficient. They can make mixed drinks and fix up a hot meal. They also recently got an espresso machine, grab a coffee for your round!
Very nice course for excellent price.
This was my second time at this course and I am very impressed with the conditions for the price. The staff where friendly and the residents where welcoming. Course is above my skill level as a beginner but was forgiving enough to build my skills and still have some fun.
Excellent Day of Golf
I met 3 other golfers and we had a fun day of golf. The course was in very good shape and we played in approximately four hours. The staff were helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Lakeland Village for a nice casual round of golf.
Lakeland July
Could have had one marshal drive out and talk with the foursome in front that didn't seam to care how long they were taking or bother to have us play through.
Exceptionally Well-Maintained Course
I was blown away by how well the course was maintained, specifically the greens. No dead patches, no uneven surfaces, and overall . you could tell this staff prioritizes course maintenance. Fairways and bunkers were in great condition too, even with the last few days being hot.
I would high recommend this course to anyone. One slight qualm was I did not see a cart lady once when I played 18 on Sunday, but staff was super friendly and the course was amazing.
