About
Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

Where is the course marshal?
Ridiculously slow play. No course marshal anywhere to be found. Played 9 holes and my playing partner friend & I decided to pass on the back 9. Zero interest in playing a 6 hour round.
Fun Course
This was our first time playing Allenmore, and we would come back to play again. For an older course it was still surprisingly long at times. There are enough slope and elevation changes on the course to keep it interesting. The fairways and greens were in great shape. The greens were receptive but still rolled well. The range is limited in that it only goes to 150 yards, but the pro shop staff was really nice and the carts were new with gps screens.
Still slow paced.
5 hours to play this course. Marshall said he warned the group 2 groups ahead of us 3 times. How about having them stop and let faster players through? Bunkers were all compacted dirt, had not been raked in a few days. $75 to play this is too high!
First Time @ Allenmore
First time playing Allenmore. Staff was super friendly and gracious. Shout out to Brandon in the To Go Window. He was super friendly and goes above and beyond. Also, while waiting at the first tee, he can call the way out to deliver food to the group in front of me. Super awesome dude.
The course was in great shape. I'm no course snob but the course looked great to me. Tee boxes were good and level (for the most part), fairways were in good condition with few (if any) bare spots, greens were rolling fast and in good shape (though they'll be punching next week... second week of April?). The rough was challenging... It's short but pretty thick and I lost quite a few balls so it definitely puts a premium on accurate tee shots.
I'll definitely play here again. Thanks, Allenmore!
Love Allenmore...but wait for it dry out.
This was the second time playing here. I love the layout. It a real challenge for me. The day I played though showed just how rough this winter has been. Tons of water on the course. Weather they can't do anything about but drainage and course conditions they could probably do better. If you are going to play I would maybe wait for things to dry out more.
A Little Frosty
I came in thinking there might be a frost delay, no delay and they allowed me to go out a little sooner. I got 18 in less than 3 hours.
Wet Conditions, Good Weather, Good play
We were a two some as some other twosome did not show. Don't know why, it was sunny and clear skies. The course was soft and wet so no roll out and soft greens. The greens are slow when morning wet conditions are there. So, you need to take half the break you see and hit it firm. The course layout is ok, back and forth mainly. Most hole play best from the left fairway, but be aware of which way the fairways tilt as the ball may take that direction. Not as much in the winter but a lot in the summer. The restaurant and bar up above is very nice with good food and drinks. Worth the trip and coming back.
green
first 9holes was punched holes. there was no notic about it
May be last time for a while
Pace of play was atrocious. Over 2.5 hours for 9 holes. No course Marshall telling people to speed up. I may not be back for a while.
Not good
Poor pace of play. Expensive. No Marshall out on course on a Saturday. Paid for 18, left after 9 holes (3 hours) due to 3 groups waiting on each hole. Pathetic
Great course
Very nice course. Greens were perfect speed not to fast not to slow. Fairways were lush and green. Pace of play was great. Just wish they had some nets up so you could hit a driver at the “driving range” area they have. I can’t believe I’ve never played here before.
