Highlands Golf Course in Tacoma, Wash. is a nine-hole course that can be played in just over an hour. All of the holes are par 3 except for one par 4. It's not your typical nine-hole course, the layout is like a full-size course shrunken down to a par 3 with several challenging elements that will test your short-game skills. The terrain is relatively flat, making it an easy golf course to walk, and it is relatively protected from the winds. The sand traps are sparse but strategically placed, and water hazards come into play occasionally as well. Highlands Golf Course is an ideal layout for beginners to get some short-game practice, but for more advanced players it's an excellent option for a quick round that is more challenging than your average nine-hole layout.

Highlands first time
Beautiful course with amazing staff while I was there. The holes were fun with some unique features like a statue, green side bunkers, and water hazard. The pace of play was great during my time. My tee time was just prior to an event that I believe was a women's championship round and there were a ton of competitors so the parking was packed as I was leaving. Great course and a fun round!

Great Par 3 To Work On Irons
It has been 30 years since I've been to Highlands. So many improvements have been made. Great water hazards and streams with a really cool bridge as well. The yardages are tough because most are in-between clubs. Definitely a great work out for iron play. There are a couple par 4's which are deceiving because the fairways are narrow and trees overhang. This course definitely favors those who play a draw. Can't wait to go back and bring some friends.
Quality Par Three Course
Pro shop staff was friendly and helpful as it was my first time at course. The course was in great condition and gave me a chance to work on the short game and putting.

Nice little executive course tucked inside a well kept mature neighborhood. Looks like they have made a lot of updates under the new ownership and it definitely shows. Several challenging and fun holes. I will definitely be back!
Best Par 3 I’ve played
I love playing Highland par 3 golf course. If it was closer to my home I would play it once or twice a week. I love everything about this golf course! And the price through GolfNow is absolutely incredibly good!!!
Spring golf
I’ve golfed Highlands several times over the years. The staff does a great job maintaining the course and taking care of customers.
Three of us got through 9 holes in an hour. Good course to work on irons:)
