Blue Mash Golf Course

One of the best courses in the DMV. Challenging especially when the winds pick up. Great course layout that makes you hit all types of different shots. Greens have a lot of undulation so recommend hitting the putting green beforehand.

When in good shape, which the course has been this month, this is a top choice in the area. It’s a very interesting layout that will test all aspects of your game. Not planning carefully costs me up to ten strokes per round versus typical Montgomery County courses. Greens fees are high but the course layout, hitting off grass on practice range, practice bunker, and practice putting greens do make it worth it. Electric carts with GPS map and distances, too.

Only downside, no warning horns for lightning! You’re on your own with deciding on safety. I’d recommend that Blue Mash use their in-cart GPS system to provide critical weather warnings to players. It’s 2026, player safety should be paramount!

Carts have a card encouraging players to report slow play. Well, when we became the fourth group on the first par 5, I called. “Sorry, no marshal because it’s a weekday.” Ordered a chicken salad wrap. Was given a shrink wrapped wrap dated 2 days prior.

Way too slow. Not fun. Nice workers. Otherwise solid course.

The course is great. But it was Carr path only on a beautiful day. We never saw any standing water and it had been a few days since the last rainfall. The course was dry and perfect, but management refused to lift cart path only. Would have rather walked, but came in from out of town and didn’t have a push cart. People were leaving balls all over the course from errant shots. It was slow because of the cart path only restrictions. Love this course, but they are unnecessarily paranoid about golf carts.

Nice course and great staff. It annoys me when I pay a lot for a round and then they charge for balls.

Nice course. Pace was good and the course was in good shape. Altogether it’s a tad expensive and they make you pay for range balls. ☹️

Always in good condition, I play early and there’s never been an issue with pace of play. Challenging holes mixed with wide open holes, lots of fun.

Pace of play was slow to start but evened out, we still waited on most of the holes. It appeared the course management was catering to a special group of players that had large groups, and multiple carts on each hole - we never saw the beverage person, although we saw them going specically to certain group. The prices are too high. $38 for a pitcher of beer with automatic 18% tip... deflating way to end the round

Overall the course is in good shape, the tee boxes are very chewed up. There were no carts available at check in but the person at the front desk was good enough to bring one up personally, although he had to bring another because the first was full of trash.
