The Refuge Golf Club

They had one group holding up every group behind them. Took us 2hr 50 minutes to play the first 9 as they had everyone start on the back. I told the check in desk and all they said was “sorry sir”. Almost 6 hours till we finished. Very unexceptionable!

This is a nice course but be prepared for a 5 hour round. The course has lots of long drives between holes. I didn’t see the ranger once in my five hour round. 10 minute wait per hole and it was backed up by the second hole. Not cool. Wouldn’t play it again.

the course was a overall fun time and in good shape, the greens were basically bricks and felt like walking on concrete but for the 11 bucks I paid I really enjoyed, note: don't play here if your not good as you wont have a good time and will lose lots of money in balls.

Beautiful course, very well maintained, challenging but fair golf course. Uses the natural terrain well, pace of play on the day I played (a weekday around noon, when you expect pace of play to be at its best) was grueling, able to play 3 holes without waiting, and then waited for the next 15 holes, 18 holes took 4.5 hours, my group joined the group ahead and we still waited on every tee box.

Every hole required you to think and make sure your next shot didn't find a hazard. Played from the black tee markers except for #9 which had a carry of 250 yards to clear the marsh. The sand was top notch for MN golf courses. The greens were watered but not to the point where you could throw a ball with backspin at the green and expect the ball to spin backwards. Fairways and rough could use some additional water to get everything nice and green. The carts had GPS but not as nice as a personal Garmin GPS which was used on several holes to navigate safely around this course. It was a great course if you can play target golf but if you wander a bit off the fairway this course will make you pay and it might be a long day. Clubhouse was nice and I would definitely make another trip to play this course for the right price.

I visited the refuge on a work trip and enjoyed it! The greens were a touch slow but they rolled pure. They had some really interesting layouts and they love some par 3’s here! Would play again.

Wouldn’t consider this one of MN top courses but clearly within the second tier. Very good par 5s, with risk/reward options playing in rolling hills. Good course, definitely recommend and you’ll have to hit the ball off the tee to be able to enjoy this place.

Greens were fast but in good shape the fairways were not great they were plugged and a little rough

I have always enjoyed this course. Beautiful layout. Challenging but fun!

A little chilly out, but for this time of the year, the course was in good shape. The greens were true and a little pretty quick I had fun played decent always like The Refuge.
