Always fun to play!
Great conditions, 4:30 pace, starter does a great job getting groups out on time!!!
Expensive for the value
I was in Manhattan and had clubs in my trunk, went to MPGC to play a round, they had no tee times open for an hour so I decided to wait around. It took so long I was only going to be able to play 9 and they still charged me for 18, whatever I could go practice while I waited. However there is no driving range, they have mats with a netted area for irons only, which bugged me. You can put a trackman in a living room and swing drivers all day, why can I not hit a driver when the first thing a golfer is going to do when they walk past the starter house to the first tee box is drive a ball? Also, the starter knew I was solo, a group before didn't show up and I still had to wait for the tee time I got slotted into. The clubhouse bar staff were awesome and the lady on the grill was super nice. Course conditions were well enough, greens were fast, but the cart path is demolished and non existent in parts. I got paired up with a threesome of Jamaicans, they were a great time so I still had a great time, but I think overall MPGC should come off of 15-20 bucks for a round. As for not making a tee time that's on me, but sue me I'm a tourist.
The course is nice and challenging, and it definitely needs some groundwork. The people are very friendly, but one thing I don’t like is that they won’t let you ride by yourself — to the point that they will have you wait just to pair you up with strangers. Personally, I like to play golf to relax my mind, enjoy the game, and listen to music. Being forced to share a cart can take away from the experience, especially when you’re just trying to unwind and enjoy your round peacefully while listening to your music
