The ninth hole runs only 339 yards, but the dangerous approach must cross a pond. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

Seen from behind the green, a view of the 13th. This par-3 measures 125 yards and plays to an island green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

Seventeen is a fine driving hole. Off the tee is trouble both right and left, and the fairway narrows after the prime landing zone. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

If one hole is most likely to wreck your card, it is the par-4 18th (index #1), whose large water hazard threatens both the drive and second shot. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

Judging by its pancake-like shell, this appears to be a Florida softshell turtle, who was traveling cautiously from pond to pond across the eleventh tee. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

A superlative short par-3, the fourth features a raised and well-contoured green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

At the par-4 tenth, it takes a straight drive to find this narrow fairway. It’s not unusual, though, to find the water. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

Fifteen just may be the finest par-3 at Schalamar. Measuring as long as 224 yards, it demands an excellent shot for a GIR. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

2nd Hole: Par-5, 519 yards: The driving zone allows for a slashing drive off the tee, but on the second shot (viewed here) the fairway narrows like an hourglass. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

6th Hole: Par-3, 180: A lengthy bunker nabs misplayed shots to the right and front of green six, as seen from the woodland. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

9th Hole: Par-4: Although 339 yards, this index 6 hole challenges you on every shot. A hook off the tee spells deep, watery trouble. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

Running as long as 400 yards, the 10th threatens not only with a daunting array of hazards—water, sand, trees, OOB–but also a tight fairway. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

The # 6-index hole, fourteen features a brilliant design, a trio of well-placed bunkers, and a long, lateral water hazard. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

course
very wet this time of year cart path only every hole.
Great Course, but
I play here once a week typically. Usually I golf solo, which I prefer. Upon arrival I’m told I’m paired up. The gentleman I was paired with showed up 45 mins before tee time. Apparently he asked to play through a group and the starter told him he can’t. Course was pretty open. Pro shop tells me I’m paired and I get my cart and head down to the starter. Starter tells me I’m paired with this guy and I request to play solo, so the guy could play ahead of me or I could play ahead of him. Instead, I’m forced to cart up with this guy. That situation was not handled well by the team at Schalamar. Instead of a relaxing day of golf, I had to listen to this guy yap about nothing for about 3 hours. I hope to not be forced into this situation again, but I really don’t see myself coming back any time soon.
Not even close to a 5 star rating.
I’m not sure what bots or employees are leaving 5 star ratings for this course, especially with no written review. This course gets two stars for playability. It doesn’t matter how nice the staff is, or how good the food is if the reason you went there was the golf course. To say this course needs work is an understatement.
Terrific day at Schalamar!
Great to return to play golf, after time off to heal from an injury. Beautiful scenic layout, great green conditions, and challenge for this old vet. LOVED IT! I'll be back!
Course is improving!
When I 1st played the course in early May they had just punched the greens. The course had had no rain and was very hard and not in the greatest shape. Now that the greens are healing they are much better but there are still some dead spots on every green. Hopefully they can bring those areas back to life to have great greens.
Some of the tee boxes are quite rough, main issue is that they are not very flat and its hard to find even footing. Fairways are good but very narrow, this is a course that requires accuracy to avoid troubles.
The staff here is very friendly and are the best part of the course!
Brickyard
Played this course many times and never have seen it in this bad of shape. The course is usually wet and soggy however the lack of rain has definitely dried it out. It would really help if they could water the tee boxes at least! You literally have to use a hammer to get your tee in the ground. It’s like playing off cement! It would also really help if they could kill the plethora of weeds growing in the greens. You can’t even putt! Very sad to see this course in this deplorable condition!
Shalamar Creek
The course needs a lot of work. We have had little rain, so conditions were particularly dry. Having said that, the fairways and some greens were in poor shape in places.
On the plus side, I got to play for $20’onna “hot deal”, so couldn’t complain about that. I still really like this track, but it definitely needs bringing back to its former glory.
Great Value
Beautiful course, great amenities. $5 for a range session before your round. See you guys out there!
Great Pace of Play Until Last 4 Holes - The Gator Trap
We finished our round (a twosome) in a little over 3 hours. Everyone was nice and several foursomes allowed us to play thru (they offered without us asking). The course was very wet, with carts not allowed on 14 and 16 due to standing water. The back nine was definitely more wet - with water in fairways and bunkers - which contributed to the slowdown within the Gator Trap. Overall, this course is a fun track. Greens were not perfect, but were very playable. Would definitely recommend.
Course needs water
Nice layout but greens are hard and rough. Unfortunately this course is not worth the money at this point in time.
Needs some tender loving care
Tee boxes and greens not in the greatest shape. Layout of the course is nice. For the price it was ok to play
