Huge thank you to the staff at Sandia golf course. By far the best and most enjoyable game of golf. Wonderful staff with great customer service. Big thank you to Paul at the pro shop frost desk as he made check in and question of the course easy. He delivered the best customer service I’ve had in awhile. Thanks big dog.

The best game of golf I’ve played thus far. It’s all thanks to the friendly and hard working staff. Biggest of thank you to Paul at the pro shop front desk as he explained everything to us and gave the best customer service I’ve received in awhile in Albuquerque. Thank you to all the staff at Sandia golf course. Will always refer and recommend.

Since it’s owned by the wealthiest casino in New Mexico, which prides itself in having the best resort in the state, the course is always in immaculate condition. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and available. The four pro’s, clubhouse staff, cart assistants, and even the ground crew will always give you a greeting with a smile. The restaurant is so good people come there to eat, even when they’re not golfing.

At 5300 feet above sea level (where golf balls fly farther) the course itself is laid out in, over, around and through arroyos (small canyons) at the base of the Sandia Mountains that hover 5000 feet above the course and always provide an added aesthetic beauty to your day. With 5 tee boxes you can choose to play the course from 4954 to 7755 yards. The highly skilled and experienced course superintendent is charged with and maintains high quality and pristine fairways, greens, tee boxes, and rough, and the practice facilities are excellent. Should your ball, unfortunately, land in one of the numerous traps, you’ll be hitting out of the best sand I’ve ever played out of. (It’s not dirt or powdery sand. It’s formulated specifically for quality golf courses who can afford to buy it). Note that there are six small lakes/water hazards you’ll want to avoid, but they only add to the beauty of the course.

Overall, when you come to Sandia, bring expectations of playing a good round of golf, in a beautiful setting, with all the amenities you would want from a resort course. You’ll go home thankful you chose this course while you were in the Land of Enchantment.

Side note- I’m a 70 year old retiree who’s played all over the country and all the best courses in N.M.

Situated right next to the Sandia Casino and Resort, the Sandia Golf Club appeared to be a busy place. "No problem in getting you out this morning" was the response I received from behind the counter of a well stocked pro shop. The check in was efficient and painless, my bag already on the back of a cart downstairs and waiting for me. I was hooked up with three players (Lee, Pat & Marlin) who turned out to be regulars at the course.

They were starting the morning groups off the back nine, made no difference to me as it was my first time golfing here and I was hooked up with a group that knew their way around the course. The holes follow the topography nicely, fairways turning both ways, a good variety of different length par 3's, 4's and 5's, pleasing elevation changes, all set against the stunning back drop of the Sandia mountains.

Hole 10, a visually appealing hole with the fairway flanked by sloping sides that would help feed any off line shot back towards the fairway. Hole 18 is a memorable finishing hole that requires a strong drive followed by an accurate shot into a green flanked by water on the left. The entire layout should have you examining every part of your game.

A stop in the clubhouse for a bite afterwards. Good company, fair weather, plush fairways, fantastic greens, Sandia Golf Club is a course that should be at the top of your play list if you're in the Albuquerque area.

Just so you know . . . I haven't tried them but they look like they are a blast.

Course is in great shape for the fall & winter season.

My wife and I played Sandia on back to back days , October 16/17 as resort guests. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. It is a course that is well maintained as it is in excellent shape from tee to green. It is a resort course so there is maybe a bit more room off of the tees but don't get too excited thinking it is easy as there are plenty of desert brush and bunkers to quickly take a few strokes away if you give it the chance. You can find most balls in the desert but recovery shots may be more difficult than the search was to find the ball.

The greens were very fair but also very fast. Fast was fine by us as it was consistent all day on every green. Stay below the hole or have a very light hand when putting downhill.

Cart person was ever present when needed and very pleasant as the rest of the staff.

Fairways are in excellent condition and quite undulating. The GPS system on the carts is excellent and very handy on some of those par 5's that have blind shots.

One of the distractions of this course are the great views of the area on every single hole. Each hole could be an advertising picture for the course as it was that beautiful. I was very glad that we picked this course to play on our USA golfing states tour. We will be back in the ABQ area and maybe add a few of the other course but Sandia will be a must play for us upon our return. We also enjoyed a fine meal and drinks after our first round of the week and it was delicious and refreshing as we overlooked the 18th green.

The only slight complaint that I believe they should address is the ability to store clubs for hotel guests. It is a 3 minute walk from the hotel lobby to the clubhouse but by having to keep our clubs either in the car or the room it adds waiting for the car valet to get your car and then drive to the clubhouse to drop your clubs and then go park. Yes it is maybe 3-45 minutes and you are on vacation but I just think it would go a l g way in the customer service area. My rating remains high regardless of this issue but it would be nice to return in the future and see this remedied.

Slightly more pricey than the city courses, but well worth the few extra dollars. The staff is incredible and it's always a good experience golfing there. The greens can be a little sketchy at certain times of the year, but the summer and fall are outstanding times to play this course.

First off, this is my home course. Just to get that out of the way.

Sandia is easily one of the best courses in Albuquerque. The course is a fun challenge in good shape with spectacular views. Even at NM's elevation above sea level, playing from the tips is brutal. There are only a few small spots on 1 or 2 greens that they struggle with but it rarely affects play. New silica sand in the bunkers makes a big difference, easier greenside but tougher from the fairway bunkers in my opinion. Reasonable rates (most juniors are free w/ paying adult and especially if you are a member of the Champion's Club), convenient location with easy access, friendly staff all around (pro shop, grill, on course), new GPS carts, excellent practice areas, and FANTASTIC food (seriously, have lunch at the grill, you won't regret it). Pace of play is typically pretty good unless you get too many out of town resort guests on the course. Highly recommended.

Typical wide-open resort course. Close to the city and great views of the Sandia's. Pace is usually slow and greens are large but usually slow and patchy and bumpy. Clubhouse has great food. Can get windy in the afternoon.

Sandia is kept in very good shape year round. Friendly staff and nice pace of play makes it a very enjoyable experience.
