Great layout
5:15 minute round. Waiting what feels like an eternity on EVERY shot is excruciating. Greens were decent, a bit slow and grainy, but it was later in the day. Besides the extremely slow play,,the bunkers were for the most part, horrible. So dense that your club bounced off of the sand. I expected better from this course.,
Nice Course!
We played in 100° heat... On a holiday Friday pace of play was great. Group led us play through. Finished in 3 and 1/2 hours, condition of course was great, especially considering all the heat we've had, they were continually watering fairways. Staff was friendly, they provided ice for the cards. Great value considering my golf pass membership discount.
Wet But Worth It!
The course was playing extra long with the wet conditions, and of course, some of the cartpath only holes are tough, but Mountain Branch never disappoints. It was in excellent shape and we pretty much had the course of ourselves because it was raining off and on for the whole round.

Still love this course
We got on the course for off-season rates, I mean after all, it is still technically winter. For the price, it was solid.
The greens were in great shape, so are the fairways. The tee boxes are really not in very good shape, which is unusual for this course. And I really hope that when they start charging more as spring comes soon, that they’ll put real sand in their dirt traps.
They’ve done something very odd on this course. They’ve laid a ton of sod all around the course, focusing mostly along the edges of the cart paths, and a few spots around trees, some of which come into play and some of which do not. It’s just a curious thing to do. To spend money on sod in areas that don’t really come into play (exhibit A, way behind the green on #8) well not putting sand in your traps (exhibit B, #13).
I know these things because this is one of my absolute favorite layouts in this area. I’ve seen it in peak condition. I hope it gets back to it.
Not a bad place for a winter golf
My first time in Baltimore, on a work trip, and finally the snow melted and it was relatively decent weather. OK it was very nice weather, first time I saw the sun in about a month. Went out to Mountain Branch to try to get some rust off. Very pleasant staff in the Pro Shop. Starter as well. The layout of the course was nice, and challenging. Of course it was cartpath only. But the pace of play was nice, and it came out as a single and hooked up with two guys on the 10th hole. The only problem was that as much as I enjoyed the warmth and the sun, so did the bugs. What are you gonna do? I’ll be coming out more often, and I will definitely play it again.
