Golfer Reviews
That course is in terrible condition
From the grass on the fairways to the green's themselves, very bad shape. No plans to play that anytime soon especially for the price they charge. The one saving grace was that we played it in about 3 hours as it was a ghost town out there. I suspect others knew what we saw and have opted to play somewhere else.
Terrible greens
Played this course 4-5 x in the last year. These greens this time were the worse I’ve ever seen. Full of dead grass and holes. Def will not be playing this course anytime soon. Terrible
Course in poor condition
It's been quite awhile since I played this course, so I was excited to play something different than my usual course. Overall the condition of the course was very disappointing. All aspects of the course needed work..tee boxes, greens and fairways. The greens had numerous bare patches, were dry, and overall neglected. The areas around the greens were often patchy with no grass or only weeds. Several tee boxes were bare with no grass or very sparse. The fairways were littered with weeds, bare patches were poorly maintained. Everyone in my party expressed disappointment at the condition of the course and agreed we would not return anytime soon--especially considering the price and lack of discount for being Golf Now member.
The staff were friendly enough at check in, especially the young lady who worked at the bar.
The course
The course was well maintained and played very well
Good value, but...
Front nine in great condition; back nine, bare spots and rough greens. I will go back. Just a heads up.
Summer golf
Been a while since playing here. Very enjoyable round and quite nice teaming up with a local couple. The course was everything I remember. Challenging, yet hit your spots and good chance to score. The greens on the back nine need some work. Fungus has set in. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good fun to play.
Tried to cancel because of weather.
I missed the deadline.
Won’t do this again.
Thanks
Rough Shape
Picked up a Hot deal for cheap with an early am time, so that was good, but the course is in rough shape. Last winter's rye grass to springtime Bermuda transition isn't going too well. The greens are not good and not much Bermuda in the fairways other that nut grass and other weed grass. Looks like rough on the backside was poisoned to kill weeds, so nothing there. Unless a good hot deal, i would pass on playing for now. I know the guys are trying but not working out.
Needs better care
Course should be in much better shape for a resort
Going downhill
The course layout is decent, and the staff is great, all of them. The fairways and greens are getting really bad, to the point that it's almost not worth playing. It's a fairly cheap green fee, so I've overlooked the ball bouncing along the green when it hits the few patches of grass left.
What has gotten worse, and will probably keep me from going back, is the complete lack of course management. I NEVER see the Marshall on the course, and the pace is just ungodly slow. I'm used to having to skip a hole or two here, due to some couple in front of me taking 15 strokes per hole, but it's gotten considerably worse. This last time, it took 2 hours thirty minutes to get through the first 9,and on the 10th hole there was a line of EIGHT carts waiting to play. I saw groups of people driving carts on to the green, crossing fairways to sit and have conversations with other groups in the middle of the fairways etc, and no Marshall. Not once. It's not worth it when you take it all into account. Used to be a fun, inexpensive course to play, but I'd rather spend 120 or higher and go to a well managed club.
Not worth the money
Greens are in terrible condition. Mostly mud not grass
Thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration with the current course conditions.
We are currently transitioning from our winter grass, and the recent heavy rainfall has made it challenging for our maintenance team to perform their normal conditioning routines. While these conditions are temporary, we recognize they can impact the golfing experience.
Our team is working hard to improve conditions, and we appreciate your patience and honest feedback.
Not worth the money.
$75 for a Friday afternoon round is steep for the quality. First time playing, as our normal course just had greens aerated so looking for an alternative. We bailed after 9 holes, due to pace of play and poor conditions of the course. Greens are all scalped with large patches of dirt, so no true putting to be found. Fringe and fairways not much better. Shocked at the condition with all the rain Houston has gotten recently, as every other course in the area is in great condition. Plenty other options for that price. Layout fairly boring as well.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your first experience with us did not meet your expectations.
Our course is currently transitioning from winter grass, and the recent heavy rainfall has created additional challenges for our maintenance team. While these conditions are temporary, we understand the impact they can have on course playability, especially on the greens.
We also apologize for the pace of play issues you experienced. We know how important an enjoyable pace is to the overall golf experience and are continually working to improve course operations.
We appreciate your honest feedback and hope you'll consider visiting us again once course conditions have fully recovered.
Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about our staff.
