Grading
On a scale of 1-10, definitely an 8. Can’t wait to play again.
Huge Improvement
This course is under new management and so much has improved. The staff are still top notch and all the issues I have noted in the past have been sorted. Also, as far as extracurriculars, the new pub cafe is fantastic. Greens = very good (lazy people, fix your divots), fairways = excellent, bunkers = new fluffy.
Fun course
I always have a great time at Bay Hills. The layout is very open with forgiving fairways. There is a decent amount of elevation change on the course as well which leads to some cool shots. The course has improved each and every time I have played here. Greens are relatively fast with solid fairways throughout the course. Overall, a great course and atmosphere. You definitely get what you pay for here.
Excellent Coursefor the Price
The course was in excellent condition for June.. Maintenance of the course have improved since last time I played. I would recommend this course for play. It was worth the price. Greens were in excellent shape and revitalize bunkers made the course look in tip top shape.
Getting Better
To build on my past review from a few weeks ago.
The Good, staff still wonderful, friendly, great people. The upstairs lounge is very nice and anyone that plays this course should check it out. Like the white flags BUT I would love to see red=front, white=middle, blue=back to show players the general pin placement, did not see this data on the score card.
The Midline, greens were better, still very inconsistent, need water and comparable mowing.
The Bad, STILL so many areas that were sodded and or sanded (bunkers) have ropes around them as unplayable. Also, the sod has browned in many areas I assume to lack of water. Seems like the landscape team is having a problem getting this figured out. It is kind of annoying to pay a weekend rate to play a course and so much of the front 9 has OB areas right next to the greens. Many times this turns a simple chip into a mid-distance sketchy shot. This has to be addressed better for this course to get better than 3.5 stars.
Great course
Great value course. Only complaint is no water jugs for refilling on the course, at least that I saw.
